Kill Team: Typhon is coming soon and it’s loaded up with new Tyranid Themed goodies. Time to grab and buddy and begin the purge.

Who doesn’t like a good old fashioned bug hunt? Well now you can run a linked mini-campaign in co-op mode with the Joint Missions in Kill Team: Typhon.

“Kill Team: Typhon is a box like no other, for within its hallowed cardboard walls it contains not just two complete kill teams and a diverse array of Tyranid-themed terrain, but also a horde of Hormagaunts waiting to pounce on unsuspecting operatives. These vicious little blighters are not part of the Ravener kill team, but instead act as an antagonistic obstacle for this expansion’s extensive set of co-operative and competitive missions.”

Kill Team Typhon Co-Operative Missions

The missions in the Joint Co-Operative mode are linked. If you win the battles you’ll follow the green path and purge those xenos from the site. If you fail, you’ll follow the red path. Which will get you into trouble and have to deal with those pesky predators.

What’s neat about these missions is that they are designed to run with the Raveners, Hormagaunts, and the Ripper Swarms include in the boxed set. Additionally, if you happen to have additional Tyranid miniatures, you’ll be able to take those into these missions, too. Specifically the Termagants, Barbgaunts, and Von Ryan’s Leapers!

Not Just For Co-Op Missions

If you prefer the standard missions then Typhon also has a nasty trick waiting for you as well.

“The Tyranid menace doesn’t only threaten your co-operative missions, however, and the peril of being devoured by a ravenous beastie will further complicate your regular head-to-head games. Here, the NPOs lie dormant until disturbed by a player, after which they’ll attack anything in sight – a terrifying situation that can just as easily be turned on your opponent by shooting one of the dormant monsters nearest to them.”

These new rules can be used in your current Kill Team missions. With more missions, new Co-Op challenge, and a use for all those “extra” Tyranid Models included in the box, Kill Team: Typhon is sounding like a great expansion.

Personally, I have a large Tyranid collection so this box is sounding even more appealing. I find co-op games are great for getting new players into the hobby as well. So get an old friend (or make some new ones) and give these co-op Typhon missions a go!
