The nominations are in for the 2025 ENnie awards, set for this year’s Gen Con. See if one of your favorite games this year is up!
Gen Con draws nigh. In many ways, this is the convention that started it all. After all, in its hallowed halls (when it was around Lake Geneva Wisconsin), D&D launched a whole new genre of game. And now, it’s home to the ENnies, one of tabletop RPG’s most prestigious awards. This year’s crop of nominees includes Monty Python, His Majesty the Worm, and Triangle Agency—just as a taste of the gaming excellence on the menu.
2025 ENnie Nominees: Diverse, Delightful, Dependable
Every year the ENnie awards roll out in two rounds. First, the panel of ENnies judges decides who’s up for which category. In the second round, gamers like you—yes, you—get to decide by voting for the products you think should win the awards.
Which is why it really is an honor just to be nominated. And this year, what a batch of nominees it is. There are a few titles you’d expect to see, including a strong showing by Chaosium with both Call of Cthulhu Ireland and Runequest up for Best Setting. But what caught me by surprise was the sheer variety of titles up for consideration. His Majesty the Worm, for instance, is a new school take on old school megadungeon crawling. Or Doomsong, with its which is up for Product of the Year with its grim world of medieval horror.
And of course, I’d be remiss if I didn’t celebrate Triangle Age for its many nominations. This Control-inspired game puts you as an agent assigned to deal with cosmic nonsense in a bureau that makes the monstrous into the mundane. Good times had by all.
Voting will be open soon enough. And you can look forward to seeing who wins at this year’s Gen Con. But for now, you can find all the nominees at the link below. So you should take a look and see if any of your favorites, niche or otherwise, made the list this year.
