The latest Rumor Engine from Games Workshop is quite jarring. Let’s see if we can decipher what this teaser has in store for us.

It’s another Tuesday edition of the Games Workshop Rumor Engine. Today’s image is a curious one. We’ve got a lot of options of what it could be but I don’t want to taint your perspective just yet. So have a look for yourself.

“Continuing our trend of ‘things that you can put other things in’ – look, we’re trying, OK – we have a vitreographical Rumour Engine image to peer at today. Whoever it is, they really like ampules – so either it’s the Mortal Realms’ latest snake oil salesman or a perfectly average Necromundan coming home from the firewater hole.”

Rumor Engine – Jars of Pain

So what do we have here? Well, it’s clearly a trio of jars. They seem to be attached to someone’s pack or something as well. It’s also interesting that GW mentioned the Mortal Realms of Age of Sigmar as well as the grimdark 40k universe with a Necromunda nod. It would be curious if Necromunda was involved as we just got those new Palanite Enforcer previews. But I don’t think it’s actually from Necromunda.

Whatever is in those jars is probably some strange brew. I can’t help but think of the alchemical concoctions of the Freeguild in the Cites of Sigmar.

Then again, they aren’t exactly packing jars. But if this is a new character, that would make sense. And they do have a lot few characters running around with various travel packs and extra gear

That said, they are far from the only likely suspects here. Taking a quick trip to the 40k side of things, could these jars be part of a pack carried by some Ministorum Priests?

Perhaps. I don’t want to rule them out. If those marking on the jar were XXX I’d guess it was from the Old World and we’d have some Bugman’s Brew on our hands. Which would likely point to the Dwarves of the Old World. However, we don’t…but if Necromunda is a possibility, I don’t want rule out the Old World either.

This one is just vague enough to fit into a lot of different categories. So this is where I turn it over to you. If you’ve got any theories please drop us a line and let us know what you think it could be.

Well, it’s probably not Aeldari, Necrons, or Tyranids!
