The Leagues of Votann are getting a new Combat Patrol. Is this one worth snagging? Let’s do some quick math and find out.
Games Workshop showed off the upcoming Leagues of Votann Combat Patrol and It’s looking packed with Infantry options. With the new price point of $170 for the Combat Patrols, I’m curious if this one will be a good deal. Let’s break it down and check the price on this one.
Leagues of Votann Combat Patrol Pricing Breakdown
Contents:
Total Individual MSRP: $224.50
Total Estimated Savings: $54.50
Overall, that’s really not a terrible deal. I think it’s also a pretty solid group of units bundled together in an easy to snag set. Considering the current range of miniatures for the Leagues of Votann you’ll likely get a lot of use out of these miniatures. That said, they are getting some nice reinforcements this weekend so take that into consideration, too.
You can use the current Index points to get a ballpark idea of what this Combat Patrol is going to run you, too. It’s about 390 points not counting any sort of enhancements. Now, keep in mind the Combat Patrol version has a specific build for these miniatures to use in Combat Patrol. That’s why this next question is important.
Leagues of Votann Combat Patrol: Peat, Repeat, or No Peat?
For the discounted price plus the points value, I could see this one being a Repeat — specifically if you’re just starting out. While I think at least one Einhyr Champion is worth considering, I’m a little iffy on two — but they aren’t unique! Plus, this way you can build the Combat Patrol version for Combat Patrol games. Then you’ll still have enough extras to double-up on those same units that can be expanded for larger games.
If my math is right on the current points, you’ll have lots of room to expand with this core, too. So yeah, I think if you’re looking to build a new Leagues of Votann army getting a second box of the Combat Patrol is probably a good idea. Ideally, if you can get your hands on the previous version you’ll really be set…but those aren’t available online from GW at this time.
This is the old Combat Patrol — totally worth snagging this one if you can find it in the wild!
So far, I will say I’m liking the updated Leagues rules we’ve seen. Hopefully this new codex and new batch of units along side a solid Combat Patrol pumps some energy into Leagues of Votann. They already came back from the brink once. Hopefully this time they thrive with their new codex.

It’s not a bad Combat Patrol box. If I were just starting I’d probably swing for two.
