The Scarlet Jury is joining the ranks of the famous Regiments of Renown in Age of Sigmar. But what sort of deal will this one be?

With the Flesh-eater Courts getting a new battletome as well as a new spearhead box they aren’t out of deals just yet. They also have a new Regiment of Renown box coming. Now, in the past, these Regiments have had some wildly difference pricing and were typically a limited run. So how does this one stack up? It’s time to do some math and find out.

Total Individual MSRP: $131

Total savings: ???

Sorry, I don’t have a firm number on that discount just yet. Why the problem? Well as I mentioned above these Regiments of Renown have had some pretty large variances in pricing. For example, the most recent Drekki’s Privateers clocked in at $140. Conversely, the Blades of Khorne’s The Red Revelation (also a recent RoR) came in at only $90. That’s a $50 price difference and that could really make a big difference in the savings you’re getting.

The Red Revelation is a pretty solid deal — and it’s still available

If I had to guess, I’d think that The Scarlet Jury here is probably going to lean closer to that $90 price point instead of the $140. It’s got more in common with The Red Revelation’s contents than Drekki’s Privateers. I could see that $90 price making a lot of sense and (if that is the case) that makes it a pretty solid deal.

This set should also come with it’s own points values as do the other Regiments of Renown. But if you’re looking to just expand your own Flesh-eater Courts roster without worrying about the Regiment itself, you’re looking at an additional a current total of 290 points.

That said, there are restrictions on who can actually take this Regiment. It’s not just Death armies either. You can fit them in all Death and Destruction armies plus a few others. The Cities of Sigmar, Kharadron Overlords, and the Slaves to Darkness. I’m not exactly sure why those armies fit the bill…but strange times call for strange allies I suppose.

Anyhow, it’s not a bad way to add some Flesh-eater Courts to your army/collection and it’s going to be a relatively low commitment here. It’s 12 miniatures with a core unit and two characters. I wouldn’t really go for more than one copy of this one — but that also depends on the final price. Goremayne is a 0-1 choice so that does limit the overall value of this one.

This new Regiment of Renown and the battletome are going up for pre-order this weekend.
