Making their way to the tabletop is the new This Is Rogue One Squad Pack for Star Wars: Shatterpoint. Time for an unboxing!
If you’re a fan of the movie Rogue One then this new squad pack is one of two that you’re going to want to get your hands on. Atomic Mass Games sent us a preview copy to review and we’re diving into the new This Is Rogue One Squad Pack. We’ve got them unboxed and built. Let’s get into these roguish heroes of the Rebellion!
Featuring a cast of Jyn Erso, Chirrut Îmwe, Baze Malbus, and Bodhi Rook. This is a squad pulled right from the silver screen!
This Is Rogue One – Unboxed
First up, this set is packaged like your typical Atomic Mass Games product. There aren’t any build instructions but you can scan that QR code to go to them. But, to be honest, you don’t really need those anyhow. All of the bits are labeled and if you clip all the “A” bits you’ll have all the ones for model “A” ready to go. That’s what I did and it was a pretty easy build.
Inside the package, you’ll get the sprues in one plastic bag and any cards and tokens in the other. Again, this is standard for AMG products, so no big shock here.
All of the squad members fit on a single sprue and there’s another sprue for their bases. These are the standard sized ones for Star Wars: Shatterpoint so you probably have some extras lying around, too. Again, the bits are labeled by letter and number. Furthermore, they are grouped together for the most part. This was a super easy build.
With the cards, you get a full play set in each of the supported languages, plus the activation cards, and combat stance cards. If you’re looking for high quality pictures of them you can view them on AMG’s website here. Additionally, I already did a deeper dive into their character cards and you can read about that here.
Now, on to the miniatures!
This Is Rogue One – The Miniatures
Overall, this is a cool looking squad. They really do look like their characters from the movies. Again, the build was pretty straightforward but I have some tips for each one of these miniatures.
For Jyn Erso’s mini, the only real tip here is about her hands. They actually line up fairly well if you’ve clipped and cleaned the bits. I suggest putting in the right arm first and then going with the left one. If you’ve done it cleanly, everything should line up fairly well.

For Bodhi, this miniature actually goes together really easily. Their was this strange line on the left side of the torso but I realized that was were the left arm slotted in. After a dry fit (meaning fitting the miniature without glue first) it all made a lot more sense. Easy build for sure.
And now for the “toughest” two miniatures to build in the box. For Chirrut Îmwe, the cloak might give you a little trouble but again, dry fit. The other part that was tricky was his bow on his back. the handle has a slot on the bottom that fits into a groove on his back. But you also want to line that up with the two arms of the bow. Just be aware of that.
For Baze, this one has a similar hand placement issue that Jyn had. I’d just do the right then left arms. I’d also glue the ammo belt in the backpack last. Let it free-dangle while you’re getting the arms in place.
Again, overall, this was a fairly straightforward build. I think the miniatures turned out well and I’m really excited to pair this squad up with the other Rogue One pack. The box is currently out and available for purchase online and (hopefully) in your FLGS!
