Paizo, Inc. announced that they will do away with the Pathfinder Adventure Path softcover monthly release format starting in 2026.

Paizo has been releasing Pathfinder Adventure Paths in an old school, softcover 96-page module format since 2007’s Rise of the Runelords (see “‘Dragon’ and ‘Dungeon’ Magazines to End“).  Unfortunately, due to recent shifts in the global trade dynamic, this monthly release module format will be changing to a quarterly hardcover release format. Each quarterly book will be at least 256 pages, and contain the Adventure Path that would be normally partitioned over the course of three softcover books each quarter.

The new hardcover books will retail for $79.99, which is a cost reduction from the $89.97 that players would pay for three 96-page softcovers to obtain the quarterly campaign. The new format also allows Paizo to reprint books faster because they will no longer need to reformat the three softcovers into a hardcover book (it’ll already have happened out of the gates). Their first two releases in this format will be Hellbreakers and Hell’s Destiny, both coming in 2026.
