RPG: Shadowrun Goes To Cairo In The Upcoming ‘Risks And Rewards’ Campaign Book

Get ready to run the shadows of Egypt. The newest campaign book for Shadowrun, Risks and Rewards, takes you to an Awakened Cairo.

The next big campaign book for Shadowrun 6E will take you deep into the heart of Cairo. Find out what’s happening in Egypt in the Sixth World, while also making a pretty nuyen. If you can survive, that is. Cairo is something of a destination for up-and-coming Runners looking to get an edge up in the world. Whether that’s the ancient power lying dormant, or the modern megacorporate landscape, or something else entirely is up to you.

Shadowrun Risks & Rewards – Cairo’s Shadows Are Long And Dangerous

The theme of Cairo in the Sixth World is of two worlds melding together. On the one hand, you have the high-tech dystopia that has been steadily rolling out since the first corporate wars. Where chromed up street samurai clash with corporate tactical teams all in an effort to get a leg up on the latest effort to keep the number going up.

On the other hand, you have the Awakened World. Ancient magic returned to the Earth at last, reminding everyone that not all power can be controlled. Though that doesn’t stop people from trying. And you’d better believe there’s mystic power to be had in Cairo. It’s both risk and reward all in one go.

And it’s on that note that the campaign starts off. Players find themselves pulled in many directions by the various forces in Cairo’s shadows and beyond:

You can expect to learn more about the city as you get embroiled into the web of allegiances and plays for power that dominate Cairo. But as for any new pieces of gear or other player options – you might want to wait for the new magic book for that.

Either way, Shadowun: Risks & Rewards comes out October 1st. So you won’t have long to wait!
