The first adventure path for Starfinder 2E has its work cut out for it. But Guilt of the Grave World seems up to the challenge.

One of the big “galactic threats” in Starfinder 2E is the Corpse Fleet. This is an undead armada of spacecraft of the damned, hailing from three undead worlds of Eox. Undead spacefleet on its own, that’s bad enough. But the Corpse Fleet wants to turn the galaxy into a graveyard. Why? You may find some answers in the new adventure path for Starfinder 2E: Guilt of the Grave World, which takes you right to the unbeating heart of Eox.

Starfinder: Guilt of the Grave World

Perhaps the most immediately apparent thing about the adventure path is that, despite going up against a galactic threat, you only go from levels 1-5. This is an approach we’re seeing a lot more in RPGs these days; don’t wait until the high levels to get to the good stuff. D&D has its dragon adventures and lower CR versions of dangerous monsters. Pathfinder’s adventure paths start bringing in iconic foes early. And here we travel to the heart of Eox.

Surprisingly, the heart of Eox is a little more diverse than you’d think. While the adventure does have themes of space horror, obviously, there’s a lot of “wacky pop culture” in the mix, too. Case in point, the new ancestry introduced in the book: the Elebrian. The elebrians survived the magical destruction of their homeworld by entertaining their undead patrons.

Which just goes to show that there’s no predicting the wonders of the galaxy. Even in the harshest place, the arts can thrive.

“While working for a dwarven mining collective on a mysterious asteroid, a group of adventurers discover an ancient secret, the revelation of which puts them at odds with the Corpse Fleet—the dreaded undead space armada from the planet Eox. Can the heroes survive the trials that await them on the grave world and beyond, or will they be the first victims of the Corpse Fleet’s ambitions of turning the galaxy into a cosmic graveyard?”

Of course, there’s the rest of the adventure as well. The whole adventure path is collected in a single 128-page volume. And it’s not just the adventures that take you through level 5. You’ll also get a catalogue of new gear, and new undead-themed spells, as well as the new “corpsefolk heritage” so you can be an undead character of any ancestry.

As an adventure that takes you to level 5, this is a great way to take your first big steps into the wider galaxy of Starfinder. It’s coming soon, so you won’t have long to wait!
