Just over eight years ago, I started with Kobold Press on a little project that would eventually be known as the Creature Codex. Now as the leaves turn and the summer is cooling, I set foot on a new adventure.
In my time at Kobold Press, I have wrangled over 3,000 monsters (they should all be mostly behaved for game masters now . . . players are another matter), tested over 1,000 magic items (most of which stopped sparking before I released them into the wild), and honed over 100 adventures (Dib just can’t be stopped!).
I was granted the honor of leading several books, including Tome of Beasts 3, Monster Vaults 1 and 2, Tome of Heroes, and Vault of Magic, and I was given the great responsibility of remastering Tome of Beasts 1 and The Old Margreve. I hope my work has helped our writers bring fun and balanced joy to your tables over the years.

To all those who have asked rules questions or noted errata issues in our Discord forums, thank you so much! Your keen eyes have helped improve our books, and your rules questions always made me think deeply about how we presented information.
To all our freelance designers, thank you for your patience every time I brought out my red pen, and thank you for trusting me with your precious creations, even the icky, oozy, tentacled ones! You taught me so much about what it means to be a good and respectful editor. I wouldn’t be where I am today without you.
To my coworkers, you are some of the most talented people I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. We always felt like a team, even separated by hundreds of miles. I’ll never forget your wisdom, your smiles, your kindness, your dedication, and your perseverance. Your presence in my life has made me a better person, and I greatly appreciate you for it.
While I’m leaving Kobold Press, I know its books will continue to be in excellent hands. The Kobolds are small but fierce and will continue to bring all of you the (allow an editor this one faux pas of too many—but accurate—adjectives) fun, odd, exciting, flavorful, eccentric, otherworldly, and dangerous content you love and expect.
May the kazoos ever buzz through the Warrens!
