There’s a trio of new heroes coming to the tabletop in Marvel: Crisis Protocol. Say hello to Echo, Ronin, and Tigra up close!
Atomic Mass Games has been on a roll lately with Marvel: Crisis Protocol. They sent us a copy of the new character pack to check out and I got to dive in, unbox them, and build these miniatures. So let’s see what Echo, Ronin, and Tigra are bringing to the tabletop!
Echo, Ronin, & Tigra Unboxed
As always from AMG, the cards and the sprues are in separate bags. There’s also the flyer with building instructions linked via QR code. Anyhow, I wanted to note that this release comes in three different languages.
If you’d like a deeper dive on the character stats and team tactics cards, we covered that as well. Plus there’s much better pics of the cards in that article, too. And yes, there’s two links there because there are separate articles for Echo and Tigra another for Ronin. Anyhow, let’s check out those sprues!
All three of these characters come in with the smaller bases. And if you look at the Ronin sprue, you’ll notice there’s actually quite a few different options which I’ll get into below when I talk about their builds.
So far, so good! It’s a pretty typical set of stuff for MCP — and that’s not a bad thing. I like the consistency of the products from AMG. I know what to expect with MCP character packs and I like it! With that said, let’s take a closer look at the builds!
Echo, Ronin, & Tigra Miniatures Up Close
Up first, we have Echo. Maya Lopez has a talent for fighting due to her photographic reflexes. She can essentially mimic the same fighting style used by her opponents. I really like her miniature jumping from the comics to the tabletop.
The minature itself was a super easy build. Her front torso and legs are one piece while her back attaches right in. Her head is one bit and her two arms slot in nicely. I didn’t notice it while building her, but there is a slight gap on her neck. I’ll fix that when I paint her — same with any minor burs on the miniature. Anyhow, this was a super easy build and I like the pose. She reminds me a little bit of a Hand Ninja… I kind of want to run her with Elektra and Psylocke in a “Ninja Ladies” list now.
Clint Barton as Ronin is up next. This model was a little tricky to build but it looks fantastic! As you might have noticed, there’s more than just one way to build this miniature. For starters, you get 3 head options: Hooded, no hood, and no mask. I opted for the hood look. Also, the left hand can be built with either a bow or another sword. I opted for a bow. Theoretically, you could even cut the bow off if you just wanted a fist. But you do you.
The quiver on the back is also optional. I used it because, well, it wouldn’t make sense to have a bow with no arrows. So what was tricky about this miniature? well, the footing is odd. His left foot does attach to the rubble with the lantern bit. While his right foot is actually part of the other lantern rubble. In fact, if you look at the studio build, you can see they basically chopped those bits off and repositioned them:

Those bricks are clearly in front of the legs as just added rubble. That’s now how they are in with the actual build. So if you’re building based off the picture (like I was) don’t worry — you’re not doing it wrong. It just goes to show that you can really change up this miniature how you want.
Finally, Tigra is here! This was another pretty simple build. There was some funky foot placement on the tiger statue head. But my recommendation for that is just to make sure it’s set before you move her around so she doesn’t fall/break off. She’s basically as easy to build as Echo in terms of bits. The only other tricky part was the tiger head statue. I initially placed it on the base too close for the curb and had to reposition it. So be mindful of the broken chunk. Theoretically, you could also just leave that off, too.
Overall, I’m really liking this pack. I’m currently tackling a few other backlog MCP projects but I can’t wait for these to hit my painting table! In the mean time, I’ve got some ideas for lists and I’m excited about these additions to the MCP line up.
This is character pack is due out October 24, 2025 and is currently up for pre-order.
Marvel: Crisis Protocol – Echo, Ronin & Tigra $54.99
Superpowers aren’t the only toolset heroes can use. Indeed, heroes like Echo and Ronin use their superb agility and martial skills to defeat even the most formidable of foes. However, when a challenge at hand surpasses their martial mastery, it always helps to have a mystical-powered friend like Tigra around to assist.
This character pack adds three new characters to Marvel: Crisis Protocol. Echo excels at hit-and-run tactics, being able to launch surprise attacks and slip away. Ronin’s powerful martial skills makes him a great up-close and personal fighter. Tigra uses her mystical feline reflexes and strength to take down her foes. This pack is great for players looking to add characters that close the distance and bring the fight to enemies.
Okay, I really need to do a Kung Fu Fighting roster now…
