The Space Marines getting ahead (or 50) with a new batch of heads for your miniatures. Personalize your Adeptus Astartes like never before!

If you’re planning on picking up some Space Marines in the near future then you might want to consider this purchase, too. There’s a new Space Marine set coming that’s just a bunch of new heads and helmets. While this might seem simplistic it’s also a great way to customize your Space Marines. There’s a pretty wide assortment of faces and expressions. Have a look for yourself.

“The majority are designed to work with Tacticus armour, but there are also six heads for Terminator armour included. While 30 bare heads make up the bulk of the box, the helmets include a few callbacks to various armour styles, including Mk VI and Mk VII patterns of armour – who can say no to a beakie? There are also four helmets with crests, two longitudinal and two transverse, to mark out your highest ranking characters. “

Space Marine Heads and Helmets

All-in, we’re looking at 51 heads for Space Marines. With the 30 bare heads, that’s enough for 3 x10-man squads of Primaris Marines to get the helmetless treatment. I while I’m typically on the side of “wear your helmets into battle” for the sake of a little extra character, I could see this being useful. There’s at least a handful that have rebreathers or some sort of mouth/nose covering — so at least they have some protection against airborne attacks.

Personally, I’m not even planning on expanding my Space Marines at this time. However, I might want to snag one of these packs just to have around for hobby projects. Having an assortment of extra heads is great for your bits box. Plus, these are all sculpts that are different from the existing ones, too. That’s great — it’s a way to differentiate your marines from everyone else. I also think these could really open up some kit bashing potential. GW even commented about using them on trophy racks as just one example.

I also wonder if these would scale correctly with any of the Horus Heresy Marines. Obviously there’s a few in the mix that wouldn’t work for 30k, but I do wonder how the bare heads would look on a Horus Heresy Marine’s body. In any case, this set is slated to come out a little later this year. So keep an eye out for this one. You can consider this a quick “head’s up…”

Sorry, I had to sneak in at least one more head related pun.
