The Helsmiths of Hashut are ready to join the ranks of Chaos Armies with these two new Regiments of Renown.
Are you a Chaos player looking to change things around in your army? Maybe your current list is good but you’re looking to expand. Perhaps you like the idea of the Helsmiths of Hashut but don’t want to go all-in with a new army. Well, how about the option to dabble a bit and support your current Chaos army at the same time? That’s where these two new Regiments of Renown come into play.
The Cursed-steel Battery
Contents
- Daemonsmith
- Tormentor Bombard
- Deathshrieker Rocket Battery
Personally, I think this one has some potential for other Chaos armies. It really reminds me of the old Hellcannon that the Warriors of Chaos could take. “Oh hey, look at that, Chaos Dwarves with a cannon…” Yeah, there’s a reason for that. Anyhow, what this Regiment of Renown really provides is a nice pair of potent ranged options. Those could go a long way in certain armies.
There’s also the command you can use to make them even more dangerous:
On top of that, this Regiment really is self-contained and really easy to “plug and play” in your Chaos army — if you’ve got the room.
“Should these artillery become the focus of enemy spellcasting, return fire, or swift raiding parties, Daemonsmith Gurok can cast a spell that reinforces his and their armour, ignoring the first damage point allocated to each of them in each phase until the start of your next turn.”
I can think of a few armies that could use a little ranged support for Chaos. This is one I’m actually really considering adding to my chaos collection.
Seeker of the Dread Dirge
Contents
- Ashen Elder
- Dominator Engine with Bane Maces
This Regiment of Renown, to me, is a maybe a little less useful for other Chaos armies. Why? I’m not sure the other Chaos armies are really lacking in a good melee and priest option. Then again, I’m sure there’s a place for them in the right build. The Dominator Engine is quite uh…beefy. That and the prayer the Ashen Elder is packing is actually pretty potent, too.
While I still think the Cursed-steel Battery might have more general use, the Seeker of the Dread Dirge might just have a place in the right list. In either case, I think these Regiments are a good way to splash in some Helsmiths of Hashut into your army. Spice things up with a little extra Daemonic Power!
Well that’s one way to get the old Hellcannon back I suppose.
