Total War‘s latest hotfix should get the Lizardmen and Tomb Kings getting back to normal, and there’s new DLC to look forward to.
It is a rough time to be playing Total War: Warhammer 3 right now. A series of campaign AI issues have left the game in quite a state; however, good news is on the horizon. A new hotfix, released just yesterday, plus a new one coming next week, take aim at the AI issues. Alongside the hotfix release, Creative Assembly developers also outlined what steps the team is taking to try and stem these kinds of issues, which include delaying the upcoming Tides of Torment DLC to December 4th.
Total War: Warhammer 3 AI Hotfix – 6.3.2
First up, Hotfix 6.3.2 brings with it a fix to the campaign AI of Lizardmen and Tomb Kings. This should bring the two factions back to an expected level of behavior, and is being closely monitored. Presumably, so that the team can roll out similar fixes for the other factions affected, including: Beastmen, Chaos Dwarfs, Golgfag, and the Changeling. No definitive timeline yet, but it seems like this is a high priority for Creative Assembly, especially with the recent delay of the upcoming DLC.
Part of the developers’ plan to address these issues is a re-prioritization of bugs. Creative Assembly outlined what exactly this means ahead of the TW 7.0 update:
“We didn’t appropriately prioritise [the AI issue] and on initial assessment had planned to include the fix as part of Update 7.0. What have we changed to reduce the chance of this happening in the future? We have reclassified issues of this nature as a Showstopper, Severity A, which means any similar future problems are blockers to a full release and will always require us to respond with urgent Hotfix measures.
But it’s not all doom and gloom. Alongside the hotfix and the delayed release, we also got a look at the upcoming DLC. And boy does it actually look fun – if they are delaying the release to keep the game cooking until it’s playable, that’s fine by me.
In the meantime, you can expect much more attention from the devs – at least until the game is back to being fully “normal.” As normal as Chaos-tainted lands ever get, that is.
Even Immortal Empires can be brought low by AI, it seems!
