As a classic HeroQuest expansion looms, Zargon stirs with a new scheme of malice and evil; prepare to face the Wizards of Morcar.

HeroQuest is back and better than ever. With more monsters, more quests, and more broadsword (and for the real ones, more dwarves), it’s been enjoying a renaissance. And deservedly so. Not only is the nostalgia high, but the game is fun. We love it. If you’re here on our site, you probably love it. And personally, I’m excited that we’re getting more of it. Starting with a new expansion coming next year: HeroQuest: Wizards of Morcar.

Wizards of Morcar Quest Pack – On Pre-Order Now

The Wizards of Morcar are a cowardly lot – after all, the whole conceit of the quest pack is that Zargon has managed to cow the other magic users of the land into an alliance to do his bidding. But hey, that’s what heroes are for, am I right? And heroes abound in the new expansion pack.

It features five quests “based on the original 1991 iteration” and five new quests to try and round out the story as you go on your mission to stop Zargon once again. The pre-order promises some enhancements over the original, which hopefully means a revamp of the new spells that were originally included in the 1991 box.

It certainly looks like there are new ones in there. Along with a host of new miniatures, board expansions, and more.

“A classic tale returns – Loretome has foreseen the alliance of the realm’s most powerful wizards, all of whom have agreed to do Zargon’s dark bidding. This time, Zargon seeks the legendary magic of 1,000 Dread Sorcerers locked away in the High Altar of the Northern Dread Wastes. Gather your group and work to stop Zargon from getting his hands on the power, or he will be unstoppable. Along with the 10 perilous quests, this fantasy expansion pack features 27 finely detailed miniatures, 64 game cards, a cardboard tile sheet, and a game guide. HeroQuest Game System or HeroQuest First Light required to play, sold separately.”

The new miniatures are done in classic “HeroQuest style” – the detail work is incredible. How many will you hew your way through on the quest for glory?

At any rate, get your pre-order in now to make sure you get your copy of HeroQuest: Wizards of Morcar when it hits shelves next year.

Morcar, Zargon, it’s all the same – evil wizards scheming and hoping but ultimately brought low by a party of random heroes that happened to get together in a tavern!
