WizKids has announced a new expansion set for TauCeti Deichmann’s science fiction negotiation game Sidereal Confluence entitled Proliferation, now on pre-order.

Originally launched in 2017 (see “Cooperate to Compete in ‘Sidereal Confluence’”) and updated in 2020 (see “WizKids Unveils ‘Sidereal Confluence:  Remastered Edition’”), Sidereal Confluence is a board game about negotiation and trade between alien civilizations.  The game is highly asymmetrical, with each alien species using its own mechanics to generate and utilize resources.  Players must work with the other species in order to advance their goals and improve their civilization, as no civilization is self-sufficient or able to advance entirely on its own.  The previous expansion, Bifurcation, was released in 2022.

Sidereal Confluence:  Proliferation adds new colonies for players to exploit in the game, which can increase in value during the game.  The expansion also introduces new mechanics for real-time bidding to create new options for negotiation between players and to speed up gameplay.

The expansion was created by Jacob Davenport and includes 18 setup cards, 42 colony cards, and 38 bidding cards.  A copy of the core game is needed to play.  MSRP $19.99.

Early next year, WizKids will release DC Breakout:  Arkham Asylum (see “‘DC Breakout:  Arkham Asylum’ Board Game Heads to Retail”) and an expansion for D&D Onslaught (see “Create Custom ‘D&D Onslaught’ Characters”).
