Sometimes you just need to send in the experts. It’s time to unbox the Delta Squad, Form Up Squad Pack for Star Wars: Shatterpoint.
Atomic Mass Games has done a really great job with the clones in Star Wars. Bringing them to the tabletop has been neat to see. That’s why I was excited to unbox this one for Star Wars: Shatterpoint. They sent me a review copy even though this one is has been out for a bit. Still, I’m glad to finally get to this one! Delta Squad, Form Up — let’s get to it!
The Clone miniatures look fantastic in this scale! Maybe it’s just because I do like the uniformed and armored look…
Delta Squad, Form Up Unboxing
It should be new to anyone to see that the contents for this pack come in baggies. That’s just how AMG rolls. We also get the flyer that has the QR code to get the the build instructions. Anyhow, I do like having the bags just in case bits break off in transport. I also like that this prevents the sprues from damaging the cards. And yes, I do reuse/recycle the plastic bags when I’m done with them.
As far as the cards, you get a full play set in each of the supported languages. I’ve got the English ones on their rules side and the others are there just to show off the art.
For a better look at the cards, I’ve actually covered them in more detail already. Boss got a breakdown individually as did Fixer. Sev and Scorch were a combo article. There’s larger images of the cards there to look at plus links back to the AMG articles for the members of Delta Squad.
Now, as for the sprues, this one really just has two sprues: One for the bases and the other for the miniatures.
Nothing too flashy here. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of the assembled miniatures. But I can say that they go together pretty easy. I didn’t need the instructions. Each bit has a corresponding letter/number combo. Just snip all the same letters out and you’ve got all the bits for that particular miniature. That should help you keep the bits separate and organized per miniature.
The trickiest part of assembly was probably just lining up the two hands holding one weapon — So Sev and Scorch. But I’ve built enough Space Marines in my day that this was a pretty easy assembly. So that was a pretty low hurdle to jump for me.
