Odyssey of the Dragonlords is hands-down one of my favorite 5E campaigns out there. Inspired by Greek mythology (and now with a dash of Viking myth as well), this campaign frequently shows up on lists of “best campaigns.” But it’s not just the source material that makes it so intriguing. It’s the story and the mechanics around it. Odyssey of the Dragonlords blends mechanics and narrative systems to create the sense of an epic campaign where your characters have protagonist energy in the best way.
Part of that comes from the team. This is a campaign designed by BioWare veterans James Ohlen, Jesse Sky, and Drew Karpyshyn. Names that adorn some of your favorite games. It shows, too. And now, Odyssey of the Dragonlords Remastered revisits the original campaign, adding in a ton more stuff. Odyssey of the Dragonlords: Remastered
What do you get in the Odyssey of the Dragonlords Remastered Kickstarter? Well, for one, you get the full campaign, now with even more stuff. There’s more than 200 extra pages of stuff. A fully fleshed out worldmap, exciting new species, like the giant-descended Cyclopeans, or the six-armed Gygans. Plus new subclasses like the Dragon Knight for the Fighter – a subclass which lets you live out the fantasy of actually riding a dragon before you’re too high level to enjoy it.
The core of the Kickstarter is four books: Odyssey of the Dragonlords (the full campaign), The Great Labors, Reavers of Oath and Ruin, and the Heroes Handbook. Both The Great Labors and Reavers of Oath and Ruin are prologue adventures. They let you level up from 1-6 as either heroes from Thylea and its Greek mythology-inspired setting, or as raiders who ply the serpent sea (and journey across worlds).
