Wizards of the Coast announced the Secret Lair: Monster Hunter Superdrop, new drop sets for Magic: The Gathering, that will hit DTC preorder on December 1, 2025.
The seemingly never-ending stream of Secret Lair sets with rented IPs continues to flow with these four new Monster Hunter drop sets. Capcom’s Monster Hunter is a hit fantasy-themed video game that has been around since 2004; more recently, the IP has been licensed by Steamforged Games to make the Monster Hunter World series of board games (see “Steamforged Games“). The new Secret Lair sets feature gorgeous artwork on Commander staple cards, which should appeal to the Monster Hunter fan base.
The following sets will be released in this Superdrop:
- Secret Lair X Monster Hunter – The Hunt (MSRP $29.99; Foil $39.99): This first drop set announced includes a Blind Obedience as “Crimson Moonlight”; a Snap as “Kushala Daora’s Fury”; a Village Rites as “Song of the Barbarous Beast”; a Mizzium Mortars as “The Rage of Yian Garuga” and Tooth and Nail.
- Secret Lair X Monster Hunter – The Hunters (MSRP $29.99; Foil $39.99): The set comes with a Grand Abolisher as “Dual-Bladed Hunter”; an Archaeomancer as “Hero of Hoarfrost Reach”; a Grim Haruspex as “Nargacuga Stalker”; an Imperial Recruiter as “Bherna Huntmaster” and a Champion of Lambholt as “Champion of Kotoko.”
- Secret Lair X Monster Hunter – The Monsters (MSRP $29.99; Foil $39.99): This set contains a Nezahal, Primal Tide as “Lagiacrus, Lord of the Seas”; a Drakuseth, Maw of Flames as “Rathalos, King of the Skies”; a Ziatora, the Incinerator as “Fatalis, the Black Dragon”; a Vaevictis Asmadi, the Dire as “Nergigante, Herald of Destruction” and a Sarulf, Realm Eater as “Zinogre, Lord of Lightning.”
- Secret Lair X Monster Hunter – The Monsters II (MSRP $29.99; Foil $39.99): The set comes with a Razaketh, the Foulblooded as “Gore Magala, Dark Eclipse”; a Kalamax, the Stormsire as “Brachydios, Brutish Indigo”; a Wasitora, Nekoru Queen as “Nargacuga, Ever-Present Shadow” and an Amareth, the Lustrous as “Velkhana, Silver Sovereign.”
WotC is offering up a promo Sol Ring, in English and Japanese versions, which can be obtained by purchasing the different bundles offered.
