The Grotmas Calendar reveals a powerful but tragic new Blood Angels Detachment: the Rage-Cursed Onslaught; plus a look at new Squigwear.
The tragic madness of the Blood Angels is kind of one of the defining things about them. Red Thirst. Black Rage. You start to understand why there’s a Death Company in the first place. But that’s what makes the Chapter appealing. Who doesn’t want to have sexy space goth vampires who are tragically cursed by their beautiful, angelic Primarch?
Plus take a look at some upcoming new Squigwear, so you can put Squigs all over your body. It’s probably safe because it means the Squig mouths are pointed away from you!
Grotmas Calendar Day 7: Rage-Cursed Onslaught
The new Rage-Cursed Onslaught Detachment is themed all around both the Red Thirst and Black Rage. If you have a good chunk of Death Company units, this is going to be the one for you:
“The Red Thirst and the Black Rage will forever be the twin spiritual curses that the Blood Angels must hide from their allies for fear of censure. However, they can prove potent weapons of last resort when unleashed upon a determined foe. No Blood Angel takes such a decision lightly: to the sons of Sanguinius, a victory won through giving in to their Red Thirst is tainted at best, whilst to succumb to the Black Rage is no better than a living death. All this is little comfort to enemies facing the Blood Angels’ onslaught in such moments, however. Power-armored killers pound across the battlefield, shrugging off incoming fire as they close the distance with terrifying haste. Blood detonates from each crunching charge as the sons of Sanguinius rip their victims apart or carve them into gory ruin. At the very heart of the battle, the lost brethren of the Death Company fight with even greater fury, a whirlwind of rage-fuelled savagery that can end only with their deaths or those of all their foes.”
See what I mean? Especially since this gets you some sweet bonuses. Namely you can reroll 1’s to wound in combat, and if your unit charges you get +1 attack, _2 instead if your unit is battle-shocked. For Enhancements, you can let a unit scout 6″ with a battle-shock aura of 6″. Or give yourself an aura of +1 Str for Death Company units, a once per game Fights First, or Sustained Hits 2 vs. Character/Monster/Vehicles. It’s enough to tear through anything with the ferocity of a squig. Speaking of…
Squigwear – Next Week
Festive Squig Clothing returns next week, while the pre-order period for Warhammer Quest: Darkwater still runs. In the meantime, next week you can look forward to both Squig Slipper Socks (pictured above) or the Squig Mega Hoodie (pictured below).
Both of these items are extremely cozy and will keep you warm. Though do beware, you really should try not to feed them too much. You can pre-order one or both next week!
