It may have taken a while but Atomic Mass Games finally checked off all these characters for Marvel: Crisis Protocol.

A while back I was doing a series on characters that were teased in the Team Tactic Cards but weren’t in the game. Well, going back, I’m happy to report that at least these five have either joined the game OR have been announced. Expect to see them in 2026 if they aren’t already here.

Rescue

Rescue was teased with the Fall Back Team Tactic Card. Well, now we know she’s coming to the game thanks to the previews we got this year from AdeptiCon and Ministravaganza. Heck, we even got a look at her card:

Sure the paint scheme is different but much like Iron Man, Pepper Potts has more than one suit of Rescue armor. The art in the Team Tactic card is the Mk. 3 version. The Blue/Silver version is closer to the Mk. 5 version.

Avalanche

Avalanche finally showed up with in a character pack with a couple other mutants to add to the Brotherhood’s roster. He was teased with the Mind Transfer card as you can see above. That release was actually earlier this year.

I was really excited to see him because he was kind of the third member of the “bad guy goon squad” from the X-Men ’92 cartoon of Blob, Pyro, and Avalanche.

Personally, I think they really nailed the sculpt for his character, too. I like that it captures his powers at work with the destruction he’s causing on his own base.

Blackheart

Blackheart is a long time villain as was featured on the Mystic Ward card. I’d been hoping to see him added to the game at some point considering we’ve got TWO Ghost Riders and even Mephisto. Well, now we know he’s on the way.

We can expect him to show up sometime in 2026. I hope he’s kinda bonkers on the tabletop, too!

Nimrod

Hold Still probably had my favorite tease from the Team Tactic cards and one that I’d been hoping to see for a long time. Nimrod is due out in 2026 and he’s looking awesome.

What I like about his release is that it’s not JUST him coming either. He’s got a lot of other Sentinel back-up on the way. It’s going to be a pretty rough year for the Mutants in MCP…

Abomination

The final one from the previous teasers that I wanted to mention was Abomination. He showed up on the Joint Effort card and not too long after I wrote this original article, he joined the game.

This one was a great addition to the game in my opinion for no other reason that his pose makes a great paring with Immortal Hulk. I still have dreams of doing a diorama/display tray for Abomination and Immortal Hulk getting ready to pounce on each other. Maybe I’ll finally get to do that in 2026!

There’s still loads more characters that AMG used in art that haven’t shown up on the tabletop …yet. Maybe we’ll revisit those soon.
