Pathfinder will be revisiting the haunting Season of Ghosts adventure path in the new year, providing updated rules, challenges, and more.
Pathfinder has come through the remaster project ahead of the curve, it feels like. With a new ruleset that’s crunchy enough for even the most die-hard of tactical tabletop combat fans, there’s a lot to sink your teeth into. Especially now that Paizo is updating some of its pre-Pathfinder 2E Remaster products.
Case in point, Season of Ghosts (Remastered). This is an update to the 2E Adventure Path from 2024, which helped kick off the foray to Tian Xia in the Pathfinder cycle. And in February of 2026, you’ll be able to start the new year off with a haunting return to the town of Willowshore.
Season of Ghosts Remastered – Coming In 2026
There are a few things to keep in mind about the remastered adventure path. First and foremost, the new AP format that Paizo has adopted. Instead of getting three different books, you’ll just grab the whole thing in a single volume. A hefty 368-page hardcover compilation will have everything you need to run the campaign.
Running from levels 1-12, this adventure is also updated to run with the newest ruleset. What that means exactly is a lot – but in a nutshell, monsters are reworked and adjusted to fit in with a system of tags. Abilities and their triggers are made clearer and crunchier.
It also seems like Paizo has taken in a lot of fan feedback and worked it into the adventure path. Season of Ghosts Remastered will apparently include “updates and improvements based on player feedback” as well as a “meaty rules appendix” which I imagine is the integrated Player’s Guide for the AP.
The small town of Willowshore has a big problem—it’s cursed! When a group of heroes awaken in the woods after a festival to usher out the last day of spring and welcome in the summer—a time known locally as the “season of ghosts,” they find their hometown has been invaded by monsters, strange weather, and horrifying ghosts. Yet theses manifestations of the ancient evil that threatens Willowshore are nothing compared to the harrowing secrets awaiting discovery in Season of Ghosts.
If you missed this the first time around, the adventure was pretty stellar. You wake up in a cursed town and go from there. It’s Tian Xia at its finest.
