Marvel Comics has a ton of untapped characters that could join the ranks of Marvel: Crisis Protocol. But I think it’s time for more baddies.

Atomic Mass Games has done a good job of bringing a TON of characters to the game already. There’s over 180 at this point if you count the announced ones. And there’s still a bunch of fan favorites that haven’t shown up yet. But that still feels like we’re just scratching the surface of Marvel Comics characters that could join the game. That said, I wanted to focus on a few villains that I think would make excellent additions to the game today.

That said, I wanted to acknowledge that yes, we’d all like to see Doctor Doom added. And, like Doom, there’s a few other characters I’ve mentioned a bunch already so I wanted to tap into some other characters that don’t get as much love. So let’s dive in.

Yellowjacket (Darren Cross)

I think most people might know this version from the MCU. However, he does have origins in the comics. Yellowjack, as you might know, is also associated with Ant-Man, specifically Hank Pym as one of his aliases. But the Darren Cross version of Yellowjacket is an enemy of the Scott Lang version of Ant-Man. So this character is kind of a multi-generational villain name.

Anyhow, power-wise, he’s got enhanced strength, a regeneration factor, and of course his suit that helps him regulate his size-shifting abilities. Not to mention the other tech that’s also a part of his suit. I just think he’d be a cool addition as a villain in both the Criminal Syndicate or Cabal. He’s also be a part of the Hellfire Club, too!

Absorbing Man

I know I’ve used Carl “Crusher” Creel, aka Absorbing Man, in lists before. But C’MON! He’d be so cool to have in the game. I’d love to see him added with an ability to absorb the attack-type and get a boost to defense or offense based on the attack. I also think that the painting options for him would be really cool because you could paint his skin different based on what type of material you think he’d absorbed. Anyhow, we need Absorbing Man in MCP!

Hobgoblin

This is another one of the villains I keep going back to. Mostly because I think we could use more characters on hoverboards…but really because I think Hobgoblin brings something different to the table that Green Goblin doesn’t. He’s had multiple versions over the years and depending on which one AMG picks, you could have vastly different characters. Plus, in my head, he’s always been a tad more sinister than Green Goblin. I think that’s because Norman Osborn always seemed to have his “business side” to fall back on. Where as Hobgoblin had less to lose. Oh well. Maybe one day we can have a Goblin War…

Mojo

We’ve already got Mojo Ball as an alternate game mode. But C’mon…bring in this Alien TV Producer already! His powers are weird and his design is…well, you can see it above. The robotic bottom half with a mechanical tail (that also is a weapon) always stuck with me. Plus his corpulent body and creepy eyes were just …very distinct to a young me. I’ve always wanted to face off against him with the X-Men and give him a pounding. But that just makes him a great villain in my mind.

Romulus

Okay, this one might be a bit of a deeper cut unless you’re a Wolverine fan. Romulus is …complicated. The short version is that he’s been manipulating things behind the scenes for a very long time in regard to Wolverine in particular. There’s even been hints that Wolverine might be a descendent of Romulus. However, that could just be Romulus taunting Wolverine. Romulus is a master manipulator as he’s had centuries to hone that particular skill.

Anyhow, I think it would be cool to have him on the tabletop. He looks a lot like Wolverine/Sabertooth but with crazy claw gauntlets. He does have a healing factor and he’s had his skeleton laced with Adamantium, too. He’s a deadly opponent however you slice it!
