Games Workshop had a big Christmas reveal. Huron Blackheart got a glow-up as the Master of the Maelstrom returns to the spotlight!
Yesterday was Christmas and the final day of the Grotmas Calendar from GW. They had one final gift in the form a miniature reveal. The Master of the Red Corsairs is back with a new plastic miniature and he’s looking ready for war!
“This new plastic miniature shows the full horror of what happens when a Space Marine has half of his body vaporised by a melta blast. Huron Blackheart’s face is mutilated, and his power armour broken all down his right side. It has allowed the monstrous weapon known as the Tyrant’s Claw to be attached, however, so there’s definitely a silver lining in there somewhere.”
Huron Blackheart, Tyrant of Badab
Huron Blackheart has had quite the history in 40k. Currently, he’s ruling over his sector of space known as the Maelstrom and just generally causing problems. In anycase, I think that based on this teaser/reveal, we can expect some big things for him and Chaos in the New Year.
In fact, GW has basically confirmed there’s more Chaos Kits on the way…
“He wouldn’t be much of a captain without a crew, however. More miniatures will be joining his command team when they release next year – can you guess who or what they might be?”
Regardless of who his crew turns out to be I’m really liking this new miniature. While the old miniature did have a certain charm to it, this new one really updates him in terms of scale and overall details. It’s a step in the same direction we’ve seen with many of the other characters in 40k. Plus this kit will be plastic which is also a plus in my book.
Huron also represents one of the last Chaos Space Marine Characters that needed a new plastic kit, too. All that to say that I’m looking forward to seeing what GW does with Huron Blackheart and the Chaos Space Marines in 2026!
Will 2026 be a CHAOS year? Oh boy…
