The new Legion Astartes Siege Assault Battlegroup is coming to pre-order today. Time to check out these new plastics!

The Horus Heresy is getting a new Boxed Set for pre-order and it honestly looks pretty solid. If you’re looking for a very specific sort of playstyle that is. Everything is in this box is looking to get relatively up close and in the enemies face. That said, there are some new miniatures in the box and we’ve got them built and in the studio for a few pictures.

Cataphractii Terminators

The new Cataphractii Terminators are now in plastic. While this isn’t the first time we’ve seen Cataphractii  Terminators, this is a new kit. It’s also the first time we’ve seen them broken up into sets of six so…that’s all new to us, too. You can build one set with Volkite Chargers and Power Mauls. The other set comes with Combi-bolters. There’s also a few different heavy weapons to choose from, too. Oh and the Squad Sergeants have a few alternate options in terms of which power weapon and crest you want to use.

Overall, this is a nice change for the Cataphractii Terminators. I’m personally a little curious to see how this set ends up when GW inevitably does the solo release for this kit. I’m guessing they will have to include both sets of weapons or sell two versions of this kit. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Breacher Squad Space Marines

So the MkIII Space Marines aren’t technically new either. However, the Breacher Squad frame is what’s new for them. Above you can see a few of them built as examples. They do have slightly different helmets and head options so you can update your MkIII Marines with them. There’s also the lascutter and graviton gun options in the kit. Oh and the left arms are different so that you can give them their boarding shields.

It’s not a crazy new kit or anything but if you’re a fan of the MkIII look and wanted Breacher Squads, well, this is your first crack at them! They should be coming out as a solo release later as well.

Finally, if you notice we didn’t include the Leviathan Siege Dreadnought. While it IS a cool kit, it’s also not really any different that the existing plastic kit from 2022. This is the version with the siege claw and siege drill. Again, it’s a cool kit but nothing really new to see there.
