Free League Publishing revealed an upcoming new expansion for sci-fi RPG, Coriolis: The Great Dark, coming February 3rd.

Coriolis: The Great Dark is getting its first-ever expansion, The Flowers of Algorab, a “complete boxed campaign” which will take you deep into Ship City as you head out on dangerous expeditions in search of long-lost secrets. In other words, it’s a campaign-in-a-box complete with in-game handouts in the grand tradition of campaigns like Masks of Nyarlathotep.

The Flowers of Algorab – A Campaign For Coriolis: The Great Dark

If you’re unfamiliar with Coriolis: The Great Dark, it’s the 2nd Edition of Free League’s sci-fi RPG, Coriolis. It’s an rpg that embraces the idea of expeditions into the unknown. You are spacers in a dying colony and you must venture out in search of spare parts from the Great Dark, which also holds mysteries of the ancients. Good sci-fi stuff.

It’s especially fun because one of the big inspirations for this are old 19th-century expeditions and deep-sea divers. That “exploration is dark and dangerous” vibe really plays into the central core of Coriolis.

The complete campaign centers around the mysteries of Ship City. There, amid the slow collapse of the cobbled together metropolis, the death of an old space kicks off a new expedition.

“The death of an old ruin delver and a missing stone tablet mark the beginning of a strange set of events in the depths of Ship City. Soon, the Explorers are drawn into a web of intrigue and ancient secrets that threaten the very fabric of the Lost Horizon itself.

The Flowers of Algorab is a complete campaign for the Coriolis: The Great Dark RPG, where the Explorers will partake in investigations in Ship City, embark on perilous expeditions, and travel down the Hammurabi Arm in search of lost secrets.”

This is set to release February 3rd, and is available for pre-order now at Free League’s webstore. The complete boxed set comes with a ton of tools for GMs to bring the campaign to life. You’ll find ship bluerints and maps, in-game handouts, custom cards detailing new gear and discoveries, as well as tokens and dice to help make tracking your expeditions easier.
