DC Comics and Solo Leveling were huge presences in their categories, while the top-selling manga showed more diversity, judging from the lists of the Top 20 best-selling Author, Manga, and Superhero graphic novels according to Circana (formerly NPD) BookScan data for November 2025 (11/30/25 – 1/3/26) provided to ICv2.
DC had the biggest market share in ComicHub in the fourth quarter of 2025 (see “DC Had #1 Comic Store Market Share in Q4 2025“), and their strength in the book channel as well is obvious from the Superhero chart: 14 of the Top 20 are DC titles, and there’s quite a range, including six Absolute titles (one a hardcover), four Compact Comics, the regular and deluxe editions of Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, and two older titles. What’s not on the chart? Watchmen, once a Superhero Top 20 perennial, which has not been seen on the BookScan charts since the Compact Comics edition in September 2025.
Another perennial, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin, is still hanging in more than three years after its release. That and another TMNT title make up the sole IDW Publishing contributions to the superhero chart.
Dark Horse Comics’ Stranger Things and Dungeons & Dragons volume from September continues to ride high at #2 behind the drop of the final season.
Marvel has two titles in the Top 20, including the Premier Collection edition of Daredevil: Born Again.

Solo Leveling dominates the Author chart, with nine volumes; the newly released Vol. 14 takes the top spot and Vol. 1 is in third place, so readers are still discovering and coming back to this series. The next most popular franchise is Invincible, with four volumes.
The Hobbit appears twice, with the standard paperback edition in sixth place and the revised and expanded hardcover, a December release, in 16th.
Romantasy continues to have its moment in the graphic novel space: Inklore has three volumes on the chart: Heaven Official’s Blessing, from China, Under the Oak Tree, from Korea, and Lore Olympus, from Webtoon.
And of course, everyone still loves Calvin and Hobbes.

As previously noted (see “December 2025 Circana BookScan“), manga with anime adaptations dominated the Adult Top 20, and since manga dominated that chart, the same is true of the Manga chart. The three volumes that were not on the Adult chart all have anime adaptations that have significantly driven sales: Vol. 1 of The Apothecary Diaries, Vol. 1 of The Summer Hikaru Died, and Vol. 2 of Gachiakuta. Interestingly, none of these are Shonen Jump titles, and both Apothecary Diaries and Hikaru appeal to very different audiences than the action-oriented stories that are VIZ Media’s bread and butter.
