Author, editor, and writer Jean Rabe recently passed away on January 19, 2026. 

Rabe started her career in the games industry as an employee of TSR, Inc. There, she was the first head of the RPGA Network and the editor of Polyhedron, the official magazine of the RPGA (see “From RPGA to Award Winning Author“). She was also a novelist for TSR, Inc.; she wrote and edited Dungeons & Dragons and Gamma World modules. She left TSR in 1994 to become a freelance writer, and worked as the editor of BattleTech magazine MechForce for FASA and wrote short stories for West End Games’ Star Wars Adventure Journals 

Rabe is most well-known for her work on Dragonlance. She penned several Dragonlance novels, including the Dragons of a New Age trilogy and the Stonetellers trilogy. She is survived by her husband, Bruce Rabe; ICv2 offers its sincere condolences to her family and friends.
