As the Hellfire Crisis adventure paths loom, Pathfinder wants to help get your next character embroiled in it with a new player’s guide.
In the coming months, the corrupting influence of a devilish cult of aristocratic nobles whose depraved decadence knows no bounds will plunge the world into war and chaos. In Golarion, of course. I don’t know if the designers at Paizo are staring, Jim Halpert-like, directly into the camera of reality or not. But the new Hellbreakers Player’s Guide gives you a great jumping-off point to create a character who is embroiled in the heart of the coming war.

The new Player’s Guide is packed full of resources for players looking to create a character with plenty of reasons and personal hooks in the coming conflict. It’s great if you want a little more immersion in the unfolding story. Plus, it gives you an idea (albeit a spoiler-free one) of what else you might expect.
Things like “who are the Hellbreakers?” which, it turns out, is an organization dedicated to break the devilish oppression of the “elite” of Cheliax. And with it, a number of ways to fit in. This includes new backgrounds for inspiration, or suggestions of ancestries, classes, and archetypes to play with.
“Isger’s wealth and resources have been squandered by greedy nobles and Chelaxian powers for decades, but the time has come for change! The Hellbreakers League, a group of rebels and dissidents chafing at the devilish oppression of Cheliax, has risen to take the fight to the capital city of Elidir and stake their claim on their homeland for a free people.
The PCs are members of the Hellbreakers League, working to sabotage Cheliax’s iron grip on the nation and encourage its downtrodden people to rise up against their oppressors. But Cheliax isn’t giving up on Isger without a fight, and their forces have the power of Hell behind them.”
The new Hellbreaker Archetype will give you access to a selection of thematically appropriate (and also powerful) feats that you can take to customize your character even further. You might rally others to the cause, or smite evil with extra spirit damage. It all depends.
