The new Armageddon box is coming with a bunch of updated and new miniatures. Today we get a look at the new Vanguard Veterans!
Gearing up for the new edition means new miniatures are on the way. Games Workshop is bringing back classic units and updating them with the Armageddon Launch Box. Now we got a tease of what’s on the way but today we get a closer look at the new Vanguard Veterans.
While this one was painted up like a Blood Angel it’s important to remember all the Space Marines in the box are going to be Chapter agnostic. There’s not specific chapter markings so you can paint them how you want. That said, there’s still lots of cool things to look at with this miniature.
The golden helmet marks out this Blood Angel as a veteran. He’s also wielding an impressive master-crafted weapon and a plasma pistol, and his armour is festooned with additional iconography and a crux terminatus, just to underline his status within the Chapter.
Vanguard Veterans From Armageddon
I really like the fact that it’s a Primaris Marine with the newer Jump Packs now. It makes sense. Plus I think we all collectively knew that GW was going to be updating/replacing the classic Marine units with Primaris versions anyhow. That said, I do think it’s funny we still have this Primaris Veteran Vanguard member leaping off a tactical rock just like the Assault Intercessors with Jump Packs.
Anyhow, the fancier master-crafted Power Sword does look the part and so does the Plasma Pistol. But my favorite detail is the shoulder pad:
He’s rocking the Crux Terminatus and that’s an important distinction. That’s how you know he’s a legit Veteran. You have to earn that mark and I’m glad to see it on a Vanguard Veteran. The only thing that would have made this even better is if we could have seen the rest of the squad…
I’m going to have to get a copy of this launch box…
