This massive LEGO Jedha includes hundreds of thousands of pieces and incredible details – including *all* the stairs.

Also known as the Pilgrim’s Moon, Jedha was a small but important planet located in the Star Wars galaxy. Rich in kyber crystals and steeped in the Force, the world was an important center for the Jedi and other Force traditions and cults. Jedha City, known as the Holy City, was the main settlement on the moon and an important pilgrimage site from the galaxy.

Well over 6,000 years old, the ancient city was a cosmopolitan and esoteric place. Disciples of many Force-based religions visited and made it a center of worship. Dominated by the massive Temple of the Kyber, itself guarded by the Guardians of the Whills, the city had many other famous landmarks. Places such as the Pilgrim’s Walk, Path of Judgments, and the Dome of the Anointed were all well known. After the rise of the Empire, the Holy City was occupied and its kyber mined and stolen. Eventually, it became the first victim of the Death Star.

LEGO Jedha Holy City

Jedha is a stunning and beautiful location, and it’s been brought to life in LEGO on a massive scale. Containing over half a million pieces, this build was put together by the team at Brickz Lab. Around 30 builders worked for a year to create this absolutely mind-blowing build, packed with details and easter eggs. The build covers 90 base plates! (They don’t say if these are the 10×10 or the 15×15 base plates, but that puts the build between 63-135 sf, and even the smaller number is amazing.) You can find the list of contributors here.

This MOC is one of the best sci-fi cities I’ve ever seen. There is just an amazing level of detail packed into this that really brings the mix of ancient and sci-fi to life. It’s very heavily based on the Jedha parts we see in Rogue One. You’ve got the crashed fighters that we see in the movie, plus various markets and buildings.

The front view also doesn’t show everything. There are tons of details packed into the back and alleys. You’ve got Imperial tanks and walkers from the movie packed in there, and most of the battle scenes. It’s just an incredible accomplishment. Every single inch has something cool to look at. To top it all off, the MOC has lighting and some of the big things (such as the walker) actually move!

Look at all of the detail… and the walking AT-ST!

Here are a few more of the great details you can find in the build. It really looks like a lived in city.

Build A Little Of Rogue One Yourself

Now sadly Lego doesn’t sell a Jedha City kit yet – get it on it LEGO architecture! But you can own a little bit of the Jedha scenes from Rogue One. The Rebel U-Wing, flown by Cassian Andor, features heavily in that movie and is how our heroes get to and from Jedha. LEGO makes a pretty cool U-Wing; one of the best looking ships to be added to Star Wars in the last decade. While this U-Wing is more Andor focused, you do get Andor and K2S0, both present on Jedha, so you just need a few more mini-figs to bring the movie to life.

Abe is that rare thing, an Austin local born and raised here. Though he keeps on moving around, DC, Japan, ETC., he always seems to find his way back eventually. Abe has decades of experience with a wide range of tabletop and RPG games, from historicals, to Star Wars to D&D and 40K. He has been contributing to BOLS since almost the start, back when he worked at and then owned a local gaming store. He used to be big into the competitive Warhammer tournament scene but age has mellowed him and he now appreciates a good casual match. He currently covers Warhammer: The Old World, as well as all things Star Wars, with occasional dabbling in other topics. Abe mourned over loss of WFB for its entire hiatus, but has been reborn like a gaming phoenix with Warhammer: The Old World.
