Paizo returns once more to the sleepy town of Willowshore, where things are quietly (and not so quietly) amiss because of g-g-g-g-ghosts.
Pathfinder’s ongoing Remaster project continues to bear delicious, crunchy fruit. I mean, truly, if you played Pathfinder 2E before the remaster, you know that now there’s even more to chew. And even if you’re an experienced chewer, there’s still a lot to crunch on, and sometimes you wonder if you can actually finish the bite. I guess in this metaphor, I’m trying to say Pathfinder 2E at higher levels gets real tactical. So you might want some ready-to-run stuff to help teach you the DM how it’s run, and also for you, the friends who are gathering to Pathfind, to play so you can get your dice blooded, so to speak.
That brings us to the Season of Ghosts (Remastered). This is an update to the 2E Adventure Path from 2024, which helped kick off the foray to Tian Xia in the Pathfinder cycle. It all begins in the distant town of Willowshore…

And just a reminder, because I’m still getting used to it, Paizo has a new Adventure Path format, designed to just cram everything in one chonky volume. Instead of three tomes, you just get one hefty 368-page hardcover compilation, but it has all the stuff you need inside of it.
Running from levels 1-12, this adventure is also updated to run with the newest ruleset. What that means exactly is a lot, but in a nutshell, monsters are reworked and adjusted to fit in with a system of tags. Abilities and their triggers are made clearer and crunchier.
It also seems like Paizo has taken in a lot of fan feedback and worked it into the adventure path. Season of Ghosts Remastered will apparently include “updates and improvements based on player feedback” as well as a “meaty rules appendix,” which I imagine is the integrated Player’s Guide for the AP.

When a group of heroes awaken in the woods after a festival to usher out the last day of spring and welcome in the summer—a time known locally as the ‘season of ghosts,’ they find their hometown has been invaded by monsters, strange weather, and horrifying ghosts. If you missed this the first time around, the adventure was pretty stellar. You wake up in a cursed town and go from there. It’s Tian Xia at its finest.
