Listen up, ‘General’. Get your heinie over to the Castle pronto. This is Georgie. You’ve never heard of me, but you’ll want to talk to me. You’ll never get your dose of all things Fallout in May’s Fallout Friday otherwise!

New Releases

Fallout has had a stream of new releases hit the webstore this month, and the Commonwealth is looking safer than ever with the arrival of the Minutemen Officers and the Black Devil.

Minutemen Officers

Protecting the people at a minute’s notice!

After their devastating losses at the Quincy Massacre, many in the Commonwealth wrote off the Minutemen. But their fortunes turned around after the Sole Survivor rose to the rank of general, retaking The Castle and making their presence known again. With Ronnie Shaw to arm the forces, Preston Garvey to lead the charge, and your choice of Nate or Nora in command, the Minutemen are back and ready to uphold their motto, no matter the cost.

The Minutemen Officers are available to preorder now!

Rogue Knight

“Guess you heard the alarm, huh? Well, you know the deal. You want to take down another worthless wastelander?”

Once a knight in the Brotherhood of Steel, this soldier arrived at Nuka-World more than ready to challenge the overboss. Armed with the unique Aeternus Gatling laser, the Rogue Knight is the bane of every raider’s existence.

The Rogue Knight is available now!

Black Devil

“I used to believe the Enclave was here to protect the ideals this country was founded on. Now I realise that it couldn’t be further from the truth.”

Once a formidable Enclave operative, the Black Devil gave up that life to give hope to the downtrodden in the Commonwealth. They can be contacted secretly via their radio station to fight for the survivors they would have otherwise murdered serving under President Eden.

The Black Devil is available now!

Downtown Scenic Bases

“Welcome to the Commonwealth!”

Bring the ruins of Boston to your miniatures in a multitude of sizes. The 30mm and 40mm packs contain 10 high-quality 32mm-scale resin scenic bases. The 50mm pack contains 5 high-quality 32mm-scale resin scenic bases.

The Downtown Scenic Bases in all three sizes will be available end of May!

Factions App Updates

Reporting live from the Whately Research Facility!

Project Manager Jamie shared the latest updates on the Factions app. We’ll break down V2.6.0 here so you’re all up to speed.

Fallout: Factions

The list builder for Factions has had a major overhaul, now providing full support for both Reach and Control campaigns, with C.O.M.P. support coming soon! You can still build your list and export it to PDF, but it also puts full campaign tracking right into your hands. Additionally, a full reference library has been added. We’ve also ensured the layout on both mobile and desktop is much clearer. The app is fully supported up to and including the Crew Folio, with the team already working on Battle for Boston ahead of its release later this year.

Highlights include:

  • The ability to manage your advantage budget before battle no longer requires tweaks to your caps. The app will calculate it for you. You can also hire or dismiss help when your battles are done.
  • The app tracks injuries, caps, parts, ploys, and chems during your battles. It’ll also prompt you to roll for injuries post-combat and apply them to your crew.
  • Mistakes can happen, so we wanted to make them easier to correct. You can now remove a weapon mod or unit and refund the points cost, as well as select a new quest line if needed.
  • We’ve reduced the time you need to spend flipping through rulebooks with the ability to track hazards and facilities as your crew advances through tiers in Reach campaigns.
  • You can also track rivals and captured units. We’ve got plans to add shared online campaigns for you and your friends (or enemies) to play in.
  • Rules are right at your fingertips, with quick rules references for critical effects and weapon traits readily available.
  • We listened to you and brought a highly sought-after feature back! You’re now able to assign photos of your own models to unit profiles. This should make it much easier to tell the difference between your Pack and Disciples!

We have more plans for the app, but we’ll be pivoting to the second edition of Fallout: Wasteland Warfare for the moment, to get this into the app, ready for launch later this year.

Wasteland Warfare First Edition

When the new edition’s support is added, the first edition will be separated into its own FREE standalone web app. We wanted to thank you all for supporting it for this long, so we’re keeping it available to use. No card packs or subscription, just a free companion app for a game we all enjoy playing.

We’ve removed card pack purchases with immediate effect. You’ll still have access to any packs you’ve purchased previously, but we don’t want anyone purchasing them as soon as we make them freely available. If you do want to use card packs before the release of the new edition, the subscription will cover you until then.

Changes to the App for Second Edition

First edition’s list builder will no longer be available in the Fallout: miniatures app, but all of your existing data will be available in the standalone web app. We’re making it easier to start playing immediately by removing the ‘free tier’. Users will be able to download a starter crew PDF for any faction, giving you a suggested crew configuration to use. This should make it easier than ever to get stuck into a game.

We’re also adding the option to subscribe via the web app, which is usable on any platform, as well as a new annual option that gives 12 months for the price of 10!

Changes are already live at https://www.fallout.maloric.com, Google Play, and the App Store. If you have any problems, questions, or comments about the app, you can email us at fallout@maloric.com.

You can read up in more detail by joining our official Modiphius Discord. Let us know if there’s a feature you’d like to see in a future update!

Community Spotlight

“I hope you’re finding the broadcasts useful.”

We all know what’s up next! My favourite part of the blog is where we showcase your beautiful work! If you want in on the action, make sure you tag us whenever you post anything. We’d love to feature you in June’s roundup!

“Deathclaws are either at your throat or at your feet.”

Crazy_MCR_Angel’s Deathclaw is NOT to be trifled with!

After picking it up at Salute this year, Crazy_MCR_Angel painted up the wasteland’s nightmare, and boy, were we terrified! We adored the swampy colours of the deathclaw’s hide, and those claws look ready to sever any limbs they get remotely close to.

“Care to join the Cult of the Megasloth?”

Pathstalker’s Megasloth is a colourful find in a green wasteland.

The Megasloth might be one of the more docile creatures found in Appalachia, but don’t let that fool you! These Cryptids can throw devastating piles of rubble, and their fur contains its own ecosystem of the weird and wonderful. We loved the creativity of colours used on this, really showing that bright colours mean danger even when radiation is concerned!

“We have been upgraded to serve you better. Have a nice day.”

Iklaxler’s Securitrons are reporting for duty!

These Securitrons are well-oiled machines ready to serve! Daniel, from the German Tabletop Podcast Magabotato, has done a stellar job of weathering these units. Rustier than ever but still standing proud, these robots will keep everyone in the wasteland safe no matter the danger!

Thanks for dropping in for May’s #FalloutFriday! We’re really excited for all the new miniatures dropping and the updates to the Factions App. How will you be using it? Let us know on our Discord; we’re eager to see how you all get on. Now, I must get going. Ronnie Shaw has me pulling radio duty for the Minutemen at the Castle.

Georgie–oh no! The patriotic music is stuck in my head again–out.
