Atomic Ninja Studios, the independent publisher best known for its extensive Savage Worlds roleplaying games supplements and the Dead End: The Living Dead Campaign, is officially dissolving operations today, 23 May 2026.

The studio has issued an urgent notice to its customers, advising anyone who has purchased their digital products through DriveThruRPG to download and back up their files immediately before they are removed from active availability.
The closure marks the end of a prolific run for the creative team, which included lead designers and writers such as Jerrod “Savage Daddy” Gunning, Jeff Friedman, and David Scott. While independent publishers frequently cease new development, Atomic Ninja’s directive for customers to actively back up files implies a complete removal of their catalogue from DriveThruRPG’s servers, rather than a simple halt on new sales.
In a brief farewell message, the studio expressed its gratitude to the community that supported its apocalyptic, sci-fi, and fantasy releases.
The dissolution of Atomic Ninja Studios follows a visible period of contraction for the company. In May 2025, the studio publicly thanked fans for supporting them through a “slow down” following the release of their Black Shields one-shot adventure. This operational slowdown came just months after the team shared personal heartbreak in October 2024 regarding the loss of their studio dog, Morgana. Despite these hurdles, the team continued to publish monthly One Shot Wonders and detailed campaign instalments well into early 2025 before the pace ultimately dropped.
To mark the closure, Atomic Ninja Studios is offering a 48-hour Farewell Digital Bundle on DriveThruRPG. The bundle includes the original Dead End digital line and The Living Dead Campaign at a 70% discount. The offer explicitly excludes Print-on-Demand (POD) books, printed cards, and physical products, suggesting that the studio’s physical logistics and distribution channels have already been wound down.
Fans of Savage Worlds and the studio’s broader catalogue of tense, survival-horror roleplaying games are encouraged to secure their digital libraries immediately.
