What Is Kobold Press Scarecase 2026?
Kobold Press Scarecase 2026 is a one-day online Halloween event taking place Saturday, October 10, 2026. The event brings the Kobold Press community together for a full day of tabletop gaming, live programming, announcements, actual play, giveaways, and behind-the-scenes looks at upcoming Kobold Press products.
This year’s Scarecase spotlights Night Hunters and Death on the Styx, while also looking ahead to what’s coming for the holidays and from Kobold Press in early 2027. And yes, there are some big reveals planned.
The day includes the Kobold product showcase, a special 2027 Kickstarter reveal, a live Night Hunters actual play, Death on the Styx programming, free Organized Play games, Pirates & Plunder design, and much more.

10:00 AM–11:00 AM PDT — Kobold Gift Guide Unboxing
What’s hiding inside the boxes? Join Kendo for a blind unboxing of new Kobold Press products perfect for spooky-season gaming, holiday gifting, and adding a little more adventure to your game shelf. Kendo won’t know what’s inside until the boxes are opened, so expect some genuine surprises.
11:00 AM–12:00 PM PDT — Pirates & Plunder: Build a Dread Pirate
Set sail with Campaign Builder: Pirates & Plunder designer Brian Suskind. In this live, audience-driven design session, Brian will use audience ideas and the Pirates & Plunder template to create a brand-new Dread Pirate from scratch. Bring your ideas. We’ll bring the piracy.
12:00 PM–2:00 PM PDT — The Business of Adventure: A One-Shot Actual Play
Join the Valiant 6 for a live-play adventure built entirely from the upcoming Trade Secrets book.

Dive deep into Death on the Styx with Kendo. This live session explores the dark riverboat cruise adventure through the Labyrinth, taking a closer look at the adventures, dangers, characters, and deadly surprises waiting for your party. If you’ve been curious about Death on the Styx, this is your chance to go behind the pages and discover what awaits aboard this riverboat adventure.
6:00 PM–8:00 PM PDT — Kobolds at the Table: Night Hunters Live
The Kobolds are back at the table! Join Kendo for a live Night Hunters actual play featuring the same characters from the first Kobolds at the Table session. Can Kobolds Trevor, Chris, and Dot survive another night of gothic horrors, dark secrets, and deadly dangers? There’s only one way to find out.
8:00 PM PDT — Final Roll Call
Close out Scarecase with Kendo and Dot during Final Roll Call. They’ll celebrate an incredible day of adventures, announcements, games, and community fun, look back at the day’s highlights, pull some giveaways, and send everyone off with a proper Kobold goodbye.
