It’s official – Henry Cavill confirms he’s is part of an upcoming Warhammer 40k project with Vertigo Entertainment and Amazon.
Last night we got word that a Warhammer 40k movie is in the very early stages with Henry Cavill attached. Nothing is known at this point beyond a deal is being hammered out to make a series. And we now have direct confirmation that Henry Cavill is involved. While he is no longer Superman or Geralt, he is on the road to getting a lifelong wish of being in a project set in the grim dark universe of 40K.
We’ve watched him share his love of the hobby and game over the years – from painting Custodes to making the pilgrimage to Warhammer World. He’s even gotten his co-stars into the game. He loves this universe.

The actor posted this animation of the 40k Aquilla along with a statement on his Instagram.
His statement reads:

It’s been a rough couple of months for Cavill, who chose to leave after three seasons of the Witcher back in October (he has not disclosed his reasons, but there are a bunch of theories) and was yanked around in the DC restructuring mess. Now he’s gotten the call that 40K fans (including himself) have been waiting for. Now we get to wait for him to share more details.

“Amazon Studios today announced that it has secured global rights to Warhammer 40,000… The agreement encompasses rights to the universe across series, film, and more, and will sit alongside GAW’s activities as they continue to make the best miniatures in the world. This is the first deal of its kind for Amazon Studios for IP of this scale, and it allows the company to utilize the title across its entertainment businesses. Henry Cavill (Man of Steel, Mission: Impossible – Fallout) is set to star in and executive produce the Warhammer 40,000 franchise across all Amazon Studios productions.”
It’s happening, folks. Let’s hope this announcement leads to a project we can watch!
