The new Celestian Insidiants Kill Team is coming in Kill Team: Shadowhunt. Today we’re getting a look at their special rules!
With the upcoming Kill Team: Shadowhunt we’re getting two Kill Teams: The Murderwing and the Celestian Insidiants.
Today, GW is showcasing the Adepta Sororitas and their new rules. So let’s see what these Sisters of Battle can do!
Every kill team gets a special ability, and some even get two, but the Insidiants are so good they get three – even if one of them only affects Psychic opponents. First, your operatives are a great source of Inspiration when they stick their necks out by Charging or downing an enemy that’s worth their attention, getting the Severe rule on all their weapons.
The Celestian Insidiants
So right off the bat we’ve got Inspiration. This rule really kicks in after one of the Celestians takes out an enemy with a wounds stat of 6 or more. This applies the Severe rule to their weapons after charging. But that’s just the first part of this combo machine.
Next up, after they are Inspired, their other ability also kicks in. That is Martyrdom. Essentially, if an Inspiring Celestian is taken out, then another ally with 6″ can choose one of four Benedictions to fire off. What do those do? “… all sorts of things, from reknitting their wounds to gaining a whole extra point on their APL stat.” You can see the full list below.
Yeah, that seems pretty solid overall. The loop is simple. Down an enemy to become Inspired, charge in, do damage and/or become a Martyr, and then your friends get a boost. Which then could allow them to get Inspired and…well, it’s a loop afterall.
Oh and there’s one other ability they have which, as mentioned above, really only applies to pskyers. Weapons of the Witch Hunters basically is a bunch of anti-pskyer tricks. WarCom doesn’t elaborate on them, but you get the idea.
Finally, here’s a look at one of their operatives:
Yeah, she seems like she’s going to be able to hold her own in close combat just fine.
Now, if you’re looking for more of a breakdown or thoughts from some players that have actually gotten a crack at this Kill Team, then read the full article from WarCom. There’s more in there about how these Sisters play in Kill Team.
