The kid’s an anarchist, and we’re featuring him- but not because you told us to feature this Spider-Punk cosplay.

I’ve always been a sucker for a good anarchist with a heart of gold and a wry sense of humor. It’s no surprise, then, that my favorite character from the recent, ASTONISHINGLY amazing film Spider-Man: Across the Spiderverse is Hobie, better known as Spider-Punk. This guy has charisma out the ass, and cosplayers around the world are scrambling to put together cosplays of him. Today we’re featuring one such cosplayer who has an affinity for the anarchist.

In Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Hobie comes onto the scene in a blast of colors and witty quips. With his sleeveless jacket and bold plaids, his amazing hair, and pierced accessories, Hobie is a character who pops off the page and captures the attention of audiences. We’re featuring a cosplayer this week who has a fantastic Spider-Punk look that brings Hobie to life in a real way. Check it out, and trust me–go see Across the Spider-Verse!

I always wanted to cosplay Spider Punk (Hobie Brown) way back when I found out he was an alternate version of the Prowler back in 2016. He looked so dope as a punk rock alternative version of Spiderman. So when Across the Spider-verse came to theatre and I saw him and his huge locs I knew and had to cosplay him immediately. Once I saw my first post of him received 20,000 likes I knew I did the character justice!

Also I took to Amazon after the movie and ordered the huge loc/wicks as well as the clamps, chokers, face piercings, and clip ons.  I created the wig with hot glue, rubber bands, wig caps, and bobby pins. I also cut up this leather jacket I never when and attached the spikes and some buttons I already had for his jacket. A Spiderman suit I already had. And Boom it was perfect.
