Games Workshop has finally done it. “Epic” scale has returned. Finally The Horus Heresy Legion Imperialis brings the massive battles!

We’ve been waiting for this day to arrive and it’s finally here. Get ready for massive Horus Heresy Battles on an “Epic” scale. Here comes Legion Imperialis!!!

Warhammer: The Horus Heresy – Legions Imperialis

The starter box will include all the contents you see above. And Games Workshop did clarify a few things in their announcement. Yes, it’s the same scale of Adeptus Titanicus and Aeronautica Imperialis. The bases are thinner but the scale is the same and has been renamed “Epic Scale” — so yeah, Epic is back! Not all Aeronautic units will be supported however as it’s set in the Horus Heresy. So you can figure out which ones have the best chance at being in Legions Imperialis.

The box features an agnostic set of Space Marine Legionaries as well as Solar Auxilia units. And yes, two Warhound Titans with NEW plastic weapon options. So let’s quit stalling and check out these miniature!

Legions Imperialis – Titan Legions

The Warhounds have some new plastic weapons included as well so they are different than the Adeptus Titanicus kits previously.

Legions Imperialis – Box Contents

As mentioned everything above is included in the launch box. You can theoretically split the box into Astartes vs Solar Auxilia but it’s really designed to be the start of an army.

The Rulebook will be sold separately and you can bet it’s going to have a TON of info for all the various units in the game as well as how to incorporate everything into one fighting force. I can’t wait to get my hands on this book and see how the rules work. Don’t forget in both the Adeptus Titanicus and Aeronautica lines there have been a TON of buildings and GW mentioned that terrain will be heavily supported.

I’m also really impressed at the level of detail of the tanks and the infantry. These armies are going to look amazing fully painted. Just try not to go blind first.

Start the hype train. This is gonna be a good one!
