The new Pathfinder Video Game, The Dragon’s Demand, with its blend of miniatures aesthetics and cRPG storytelling, is on Kickstarter now!

Pathfinder: The Dragon’s Demand is the first video game to use the Remastered Pathfinder 2E ruleset, aka the latest one. At least it will be, once development finishes and the game comes out. But for right now, the game is still in the Kickstarter phase – which means there’s still time to get in on all the early bird specials and backer-only exclusives.

Pathfinder: The Dragon’s Demand

This game marks the first time Pathfinder 2nd Edition’s rules have been adapted into a video game. This is a little wild, considering there have been two other games come out recently, but hey, games take time. Years. The Dragon’s Demand isn’t even looking to release until 2026.

But what a release it will be. In case you hadn’t noticed from the unique style in some of these screen shots, The Dragon’s Demand is going for that “miniatures on a tabletop” aesthetic. The storytelling, the gameplay – that’s all Pathfinder, but it’s designed to try and capture that tabletop feeling.

That translates to a lot of three-dimensionality, both in terms of flying enemies, climbing trees, and even going underwater for “true 3D tactical combat.” Here’s a taste from the Kickstarter:

“This game marks the first time Pathfinder 2nd Edition’s rules have been adapted into a video game. This is a little wild, considering we’ve seen Pathfinder: Kingmaker and Wrath of the Righteous both released in the last couple of years.

Based on the Pathfinder module The Dragon’s Demand by fan-favorite adventure designer Mike Shel, this expanded adaptation provides over 30 hours of immersive gameplay, where the world of Golarion is brought to life by cutting edge audio and visual effects, a beautiful musical score, and professional voice acting.”

If you’re not familiar with the storyline of the adventure, it follows the tale of the dragon tyrant Aeteperax, who rises from death to threaten the world once more. But this storyline has been “expanded” according to the Kickstarter campaign, featuring a whole new region filled with sidequests, mysteries, and monsters. You can feel the “Neverwinter Nights” in its DNA when they talk about the personal story that links your player character to the Dark Tapestry somehow.

The campaign runs for the next 28 days, so back now and get some amazing goodies!
