The World Eaters have a new Grotmas detachment. The Vessels of Wrath are coming to the tabletops of Warhammer 40,000.

As if this holiday season wasn’t chaotic enough the World Eaters are throwing their hat in the mix. It’s a new Grotmas detachment and it’s going to be a bloody good time — just how Khorne likes things. It’s time to check out the new Vessels of Wrath detachment to see what it’s going to do.

“Every savage stride along the Path to Glory sees them hack down more luckless foes. Blood runs in rivers and smears barricades with arterial sprays as the champions of Khorne strike off heads and carve open bodies, seeking the worthy kill that will – for but the most fleeting of moments – catch the eye of Khorne. Amidst such wanton carnage, even the lowliest devotee of the Blood God can begin their rise to power, their comrades looking on with naked hunger as aspiration becomes a violent reality.”

World Eaters Grotmas Detachment – Vessels of Wrath

The theme of this detachment is really just “MOAR WRATH” for Khorne. How the Wrath of Khorne detachment rule works is pretty simple. You can select a number of models (from a list) based on the game size. Then each of those models selected gets the Vessel of Wrath rule. That basically allows them to get a second Blessing of Khorne for that battle round. The list itself really focuses on Champions from units — so be sure you’re including plenty of those in your lists and you’ll be fine.

As far as the four enhancements and six stratagems, once again, they will augment your World Eaters and are geared to work with the Vessel of Wrath that you’ve nominated. I really the combo of using Brazen Contempt with Archslaughterer. The Archslaughterer enhancement gives your model’s melee weapons an additional +1 AP.

However, when they are the Vessel of Wrath, they also gain +1 damage to their attacks, too. Brazen Contempt the allows you to “soften” the blows from a shooting attack so that it might be a tad more survivable. That should better your odds of actually getting in melee.
