Warhammer 40K: Death Korps of Krieg – Up Close

There’s a new Death Korps of Krieg Army Box on the way and we’ve got a closer look at the miniatures for Warhammer 40,000!

The Astra Militarum wants YOU! Get ready for the hard fighting and hard dying Death Korps of Krieg because their new army box is coming soon. It’s packed with all new miniatures to kickstart your very own regiments of these renowned warriors. Let’s take a closer look at what these miniatures are packing.

Lord Marshal Dreir

Lord Marshal Dreir is the new character coming for this set. He’s got quite the reputation as hard to kill. Which is impressive considering he tends to get up close and personal with the enemy. We might have our next living saint on our hands folks…or at least a soon-to-be martyr for the Imperium.

I really like what GW has done with this kit. Thee mini itself is oozing cool details. From the bionic leg of Dreir hidden by his coat to the battle damage of his trusty steed. Also, the basing of this kit really sets the stage and paints a picture of what’s going on. It looks brutal!

Artillery Team

I’m a sucker for these diorama-type kits. And this one fits right in that category. This kit paints a scene as the crew are doing their battlefield job like a well oiled machine. I really can’t wait to see what sorts of things the community comes up with for this kit in particular. There’s about to be an explosion of Astra Militarum of impressive armies  to see — and I can’t wait!

Death Riders

The Death Riders are another new unit for the Krieg. I like how their mounts are horses at first glance. But when you take a closer look you can tell there’s something…different about them. They also have some similar basing as Lord Marshal Dreir but not as much. I like that it leaves room for hobbyist to work with.

I also really like their riders. Are they brave, faceless warriors charging forward as the spearhead of an assault? I guess the Rough Riders are going to have a little competition moving forward, eh?!

Krieg Combat Engineers

This is another new unit for the Astra Militarum and the Death Korps of Krieg. I do find it a little odd you only get 5 of them plus the remote mine…but that’s okay. I’m also curious to see what other basic Infantry options GW releases for the Death Korps. I know we’ve got that Kill Team box…

Anyhow, these miniatures add a slightly different aspect to the Krieg. They fit the themes of the army and add to the range. Which is kind of what you want to see as GW starts to expand this regiment from the Astra Militarum.

This new Army Box is going up for Pre-order this weekend. So keep an eye out for it if you’re looking to get your own Death Korps of Krieg army started!
