The majorly-cozy 5E compendium, Obojima: Tales from the Tall Grass arrives on D&D Beyond. Cozy fantasy awaits.

A new splatbook arrives on D&D Beyond. 1985 Games’ “cozy leisure fantasy meets D&D” sourcebook, Obojima: Tales from the Tall Grass hit D&D Beyond earlier. With integration into the toolset and support for Maps, now more people than ever can dive into a world where a magic shop gets deliveries by the truckload.

Whimsy and the sort of leisurely feeling you get from wind blowing through the grass beckons. But it’s not just a setting/vibe. In Obojima, you’ll find 11 new subclasses, new species, and a ton more to play with. Let’s take a look!

Obojima: Tales from the Tall Grass Comes to D&D Beyond

Odds are good you know either from the description or the lush artwork (like the one above) if this is your jam or not. Honestly, all it takes is a single glance to get a feel for what you can expect. But, for those who prefer not to judge a book by its cover, here’s a look at what you’ll find inside.

“Mystery and whimsy collide on the beautiful island of Obojima, where humans and spirits have learned to live together. Every corner of the sprawling island has something new to uncover, and 80’s technology like vending machines, keytars, and kei trucks are mysteriously found throughout the land, But now, the Corruption has started to spread across Obojima, changing everything it touches into twisted abominations.

Obojima: Tales from the Tall Grass keeps the focus on enjoying the world around you. The lo-fi atmosphere emboldens adventures to be creative, go at their own pace, and take it easy. With an expansive cast of characters, new subclasses, spells, magic items, and a brand new potion-making system, you’ll always find something new on the island!”

Inside this massive 365-page book there are tons of new rules. You’ll find something for character creation, subclasses, equipment, exploration, and combat. All the big stuff you’d expect. There are 11 new subclasses, 3 new species, 50 new spells, 20 new feats, and a ton of new monsters and NPCs, all set on the island of Obojima. You’ll find rules for making your own potions, with a ton of new concoctions to brew up, and plenty more.

You can hear the Joe Hisaishi soundtrack now.
