The gamechanger is coming back. There’s a new General’s Handbook on the horizon for Age of Sigmar! This time we’re going to Ghyran.
Games Workshop is gearing up for a new General’s Handbook. This time around the fight is taking place in the Realm of Life known as Ghyran. This GHB is going to bring something for everyone.
Well…that doesn’t sound good. But it does sound like battle is brewing!
Set in the Realm of Life, the upcoming GHB is packed with essential – not to mention very exciting – rules that will enhance your battles of Warhammer Age of Sigmar. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be teasing you with tasty titbits from the new book, nourishing you with nutritious glimpses of a new way to make war. Sounds wonderful, right?
Scourge of Ghyran
Games Workshop also has some special events planned for the lead-up to the new GHB (and beyond). For starters, the Scourge of Ghyran is going to be kicking off tomorrow. That will be a lead-up to the released of the new GHB and will feature new rules and variants warscrolls for everyone (and army) to use. And it’s all completely free!
“Scourge of Ghyran variant warscrolls provide you with a new way to play with selected units from each army in the next GHB season. These units have separate points values and can be substituted for that unit’s original warscroll. You can’t use both the Scourge of Ghyran variant and the original warscroll for a particular unit in the same army, so choose wisely!”
Personally, I’m very curious to see how these variant Warscroll differ from their current interations. I’m also curious to see how those points are going to be sorted and why you’d want to use one over the other. Hopefully these variants won’t be too confusing in the long run either. The good news is that it’s not every unit, but a selection of them. That should at least keep things manageable.
“All the rules presented in the Scourge of Ghyran faction updates will be matched play legal when the General’s Handbook is released and will last for the duration of the 2025/26 season.”
Finally, we also know the first army to get a crack at these updates tomorrow will be the Skaven. So get ready for the Ratmen infestation to arrive!
