R. Talsorian Games just gave a sneak peek at the upcoming Interface RED Vol. 4, and the 23 new Martial Arts styles awaiting within.
Cyberpunk RED is R. Talsorian’s RPG of trying to survive in a cyberpunk dystopia that’s getting to be a little too similar to the one we’re living in, thank you very much. It would just be nice if CEOs realized that being a Corpo Rat is a bad thing, they’re meant to be the villains of the story. Megacorporations that are nation-states unto themselves and get to dictate their own policies is a warning, not an aspiration.
But uh, dystopia aside, Cyberpunk RED and Cyberpunk 2020 before it are also the inspiration for the amazing Cyberpunk 2077 video game, and the masterful Edgerunners anime. Which is why it’s exciting to see a new book coming in the not too distant future that expands the scope of Cyberpunk RED. In Interface RED Vol. 4 we’ll get a ton of treasures, old and new, as R. Talsorian explains in a new sneak peek.
Interface RED Vol. 4 – 23 New Martial Arts, More “DLC”, And Then Some
In a new blog post, we got a sneak peek at what lies in store in Interface RED. For instance, there will be a selection of 2023’s “best” DLC. These are digital splatbooks that run a very broad gamut, and in Interface RED Vol. 4, you’ll find Hornet’s Pharmacy, the gear, fashion and linear frame info from Black Chrome+, Achievements and Loot Boxes, Stickball, The Dreaded Punknaught, Corporate Conapts and Studio Apartments, Halloween Screasheets, and of course, The 12 Days of Gearmas.
But that’s all stuff that has been out a while. If you haven’t nabbed any of it, it’ll all be conveniently gathered in one easy book. But there’s more than just that. Some of the new stuff includes a whole new section called Cyberfists of Fury.
In Cyberfists of Fury, you’ll find 23 new martial art styles that you can use in Cyberpunk RED. Each Martial Art style is more than just a specialized skill—which is one of the things I really like about Cyberpunk’s rules system. There’s a crunchy system of special moves and attacks that let you specialize.
You’re not just throwing a punch and doing some damage. You get to decide you’re using cool body throws or working on armor penetrating strikes, because it’s Cyberpunk, so of course there are some cyber martial arts. There’s even Gun-Fu, because it’s Cyberpunk and it just makes sense. What are all the systems, I can hear you asking?
