White Wolf has hired Jess Lanzillo as their new Creative Director for World of Darkness, the company announced.
Jess Lanzillo recently left her job as the Wizard of the Coast’s Vice President of Franchise and Product for D&D (see “People On The Move Round-Up“). Lanzillo held various executive positions at WotC, including Chief of Staff and Vice President of Creative for Magic: The Gathering. Now, she is on her way to the newly revived White Wolf (see “Paradox interactive Revives White Wolf“) to lead the vision and IP development of the World of Darkness story.
“World of Darkness has been my creative north star since the ’90s, and I’ve seen firsthand how these games create communities and inspire storytellers,” said Lanzillo. “My focus is on supporting and amplifying what makes these worlds special—the rich lore, the player agency, the mature themes—while ensuring they reach everyone who would love them. World of Darkness is so much more than just games; it’s a cultural touchstone with a passionate community and incredible untapped potential.”
Lanzillo joins White Wolf at a turning point, as Paradox reorganizes the World of Darkness brand under the White Wolf banner and brings licensing and publishing in-house. Her experiencing in TTRPG worldbuilding should prove invaluable as the World of Darkness expands its transmedia offerings.
