Games Workshop is releasing new Tomb Kings as well as a pair of new Arcane Journals for Warhammer: The Old World.

The Big Summer Preview wrapped up and there was a lot to cover. For Warhammer: The Old World there was a pair of Arcane Journals teased as well as some brand new Tomb King miniatures coming in plastic. Hopefully this is a sign of more to come.

The first Arcane Journal is revisiting the Tomb Kings with The War of Settra’s Fury. From the sounds of it things are going to be heating up as Settra is angry. An army of the dead is rising up and they are going to be pushing into The Old World once again. This is a battle that could really wake the dead!

Dawn of the Storm Dragon is the other Arcane Journal that was teased. This one has a heavy focus on the Jade Empire of Cathy. They are gearing up to aide the Old World with their Chaos problem. Will it be enough to stem the tide? The history books say no. But it will be neat to read about how they tried to help and what happened in the aftermath.

New Tomb Kings Miniatures

The Tomb Kings army kind of runs on Liches and Royals. So it’s good to see these heroes get some new kits. Also, how about that Royal Herald on a mount with some barding?! That’s a nice surprise.

Personally, I hope this is just a tease of what’s to come for the Old World. Re-releasing the old line as plastics is nice and all but seeing NEW plastics being released gives me hope for the long-term future of The Old World. Grand Cathay was the first completely new army all in plastic. I’m hoping we see more re-vamped units in plastic for the rest of the range.
