Okay, this one is for all you hobbyists looking for some inspiration. The Armored Container Kit-bashes are freaking awesome.

I really do enjoy a good looking set of terrain. For me, it’s often the “third player” at the table. Good terrain makes your games more immersive and, for me anyways, more fun. I’m also a huge fan of the Munitorum Armoured Containers kit because I like the fact that these are really just grimdark shipping containers. Personally, I love seeing “everyday” objects from both the 40k universe and the Mortal Realms. It makes those places feel more alive to me.

That’s why I really love what WarCom did with these shipping container kit-bashes! These are inspiring for sure. It reminds me of how versatile their terrain kits are and also why I love the Necromunda kits in particular. Anyhow, I’m not going to show off ALL the kit-bashes. Go check out the full article. But I did want to show off my top 3. And WarCom Team, if you’re reading this, just know that this was NOT an easy decision to make!

Necromunda Arms Dealer And Meatmonger

First up is “Arms dealer and Meatmonger, by Alex D” because WOW. Talk about setting the bar here. These kit-bashes are really cool because of the detail work and, well, the bits that were kit-bashed. I really like the arms dealer’s red crate with the chain-link fencing that’s been added. Alex D had to cut out the panels and then attach the fencing inside. It’s such a cool touch. But what really made me go “WOW” was this:

They freakin’ OPEN Y’all!  This might just be a flex by Alex D to show off how the insides are fully painted. I don’t know. But holy crap, look at that detail work.

This is a really creative use of extra bits and you can tell that a lot of time and effort went into putting these together. And mad bonus points for not gluing them shut!

Badzone Command Post

Next up is the Badzone command post, by Blake S and the reason I liked this one so much is that, once again, it just showcases how much you can combine the GW terrain kits. The kits that were used were mentioned in the article:

“The main kits used were the container and the Gang Stronghold, plus some extra bits and pieces from other terrain projects. I used the movement trays from the Old World range as a base for the tower, for a nice concrete floor detail. “

That’s just rad. And Now I want to build one of these myself. I’m pretty sure I’ve got some Zone Mortalis stuff somewhere. And that’s kind of the point — these are inspirational to me. While whatever I build won’t be exactly the same that’s okay! It’s just getting in there and playing around with the configurations and coming up with something cool to use.

Cargo-4 Lifthauler

The final one I wanted to mention was the Cargo-4 Lifthauler, by Paul C. I am a sucker for the Cargo-8 Ridgehauler kit. And this one is totally borrowing the idea and transforming it into a flyer! That’s genius. I really wish we got a list of the vehicles that were kit-bashed to make this happen. I’m fairly certain that a Stormtalon or two was sacrificed to make this build. I really like the repurposed las-packs that were added as bits of detailing. There’s also some bits from the Cargo-8 Ridgehauler that were used, too.

This one is just a lot of ingenuity and repurposing of cool bits to kit-bash something very different. Well Done Paul C!

Again, there are MORE really freaking cool kit-bashes from that article. I would love to just show them all off but go check out the WarCom article and show them some love. There’s a freakin’ Sumpcrab that is just amazing.

Anyone else want to go grab an Underhive Market, some Zone Mortalis Terrain, a Hab Module, and some shipping containers to see what you can make!?
