The Spiderverse is growing. We’ve got the rules for the Prowler, Spider-Man 2099, and Ultimate Spider-Man to cover!
We just did the rules for Silk, Spider-Man Noir, and Spider-Ham. Now we’re getting a look at three more characters from the Spiderverse joining the fray. We’ve got a lot of ground to cover so let’s get swinging!
Prowler In Marvel: Crisis Protocol
“Aaron Davis and his brother, Jefferson, were often at odds due to Aaron’s illegal activities. They eventually went their separate ways with Jefferson settling down and becoming the father of Miles Morales. Aaron went on to become a high-tech burglar working with multiple villains.”
Coming in as a Threat 4 character Prowler has defenses of 4/4/3 and six stamina on both sides. To help him out on defense he’s also got Stealth, too. His attacks and skills are the same on both sides. His basic builder is the Prowler Gauntlet Strike. It’s range 2 and 5 dice but packs a pierce and suppressive on a wild. Covert Armament is another attack that’s energy based. It’s ranged 4 and 4 dice and it’s a flat +1 energy when used. What’s nice about this attack is that the defender can’t modify their defense dice.
His big spender is Nothing Personal, Just Business. At range 3 and 8 dice for 4 energy, it packs a punch! It also allows Prowler to make an Advance of medium after the attack. Additionally, it has a short throw triggered on a wild — provided the defender is size 3 or less.
Prowler also comes with a charge for 2 energy for your move/attack action combo. He’s also got his signature reaction of You’re Right, I Can Do Better that allows him to reroll his attack dice — including Skulls. It cost 2 power but is worth it if you whiff. And finally, Prowler is really good at the objective game, not just for his Long move but also because of Custom-Designed Burglar Gadgets. This gives him an energy after the first time he interacts with an objective each Turn.
It’s worth noting that he’s joining both the Criminal Syndicate and the Spider-Foes Affiliations. Personally, I think he’s got some solid value thanks to that solid defensive profile, long move, and Objective game shenanigans. Still, he’s certainly got some competition in those Affiliations for roster space.
Ultimate Spider-Man In Marvel: Crisis Protocol
Up next, we have Ultimate Spider-Man (Miles Morales). This version sees Miles as a bit more mature and more in control of his abilities. Stat-wise he’s got defenses of 4/4/3 and 6/5 stamina. He’s also got a Long move and is coming at a Threat 4. While that might seem a little light, remember he’s got Stealth and Ultimate Spider-Sense to help him out. The latter of which lets him re-roll 2 dice for dodge and defense rolls, including Skulls. He’s still packing his Web Swing for 2 energy and that combos nicely with his primary builder of Swinging Strike. It’s a range 3, 5 dice attack that can cause Web-Up on a wild. That ability applies slow and also can Push the target toward Miles a Short distance if they are size 3 or less. Web Swing will push the dice up 7 if you used it before hand.
Stun Web is another attack that give Ultimate Spidey a flat +1 energy after it resolves. It’s range 4 and 4 dice but, if it does damage, it applies the Stun condition. But his big hitter is Mastered Venom Blast. I encourage to read this one because it can do some serious damage.
That Electric Arc is some Thor-level nonsense! I like it. Finally, Miles also comes with his ability You Did You. Now Imma Do My Thing. This sassy come back allows him to make a Swinging Strike after being attacked — provided he’s in range 2 after a Short Advance Toward and he’s spent the 2 energy as a reaction.
I really like this version of Miles as he’s got a rather mean kit. The movement will allow him to get around the board with easy and drop into a fight. Or just let him snag an objective and cause problems for the opponent.
Spider-Man 2099 In Marvel: Crisis Protocol
Last but not least is Spider-Man 2099 Miguel O’Hara. He’s Threat 5 and comes with defenses of 4/4/3 and stamina of 7/6. He “only” moves Medium and is on a 35mm base. It’s also worth pointing out that he’s got Healing Factor [1] and his basic builder Spider Talons can heal him, too. For a range 2, 6 dice attack that’s not too shabby. That triggers on a wild as does a pierce.
Organic Web Shot is range 4 and 5 dice and it’s another flat +1 builder. On a hit it triggers Pursuit which allows Miguel to advance short towards the defender before damage is dealt. So yeah, he’s a bit faster than he might let on. His big hitter is 2099 Sends Its Regards which is range 3 and 8 dice for 4 energy. This one applies Poison and Stun before damage is dealt! After the attack you can also place him with range 1 of the defender. This combos insanely well with the throw that is triggered on a wild. That throw works on characters size 4 or less and they travel for a Short distance.

Spider-Man 2099 also has Web Whip which Pushes a target towards him Short and then allows him to be placed within range 1 of the target for 2 energy. He also has Acceleration Decoy for 3 energy. Not only does this grant re-rolls for defense (including Skulls) but it also allows him to be placed within 2 of his current position. And finally he has Future Tech Genius. This gives him an energy any time he rolls a crit. Plus, he can ignore enemy’s Stealth and defenders don’t benefit from Cover.
Oh and it case it wasn’t clear, all of these characters have Wallcrawler, too!
