Atomic Mass Games is showcasing a pair of new Defenders coming to Marvel: Crisis Protocol. Say hello to Echo and Tigra!

We got a look at Ronin already and now we’re taking a look at the other two members in the up coming Character Pack. Both of these ladies are going to be part of the Defenders Affiliation. However, they split from there. Tigra can also be an Avenger while Echo can join the Criminal Syndicate. That said, both of them add some Umph to their respective Affiliations. So let’s see what they can do!

Echo In Marvel: Crisis Protocol

“Maya Lopez was born into the Cheyenne Nation but due to her father’s tragic demise, she was taken in by one Wilson Fisk, the Kingpin. Due to her disability, she was first placed into a school for kids with special needs before her skills were discovered, necessitating a change in schools to one for gifted children. Seeing an opportunity, Kingpin set her on the path to destroy Daredevil for murdering her father which nearly succeeded due to her photographic reflexes that allowed her to quickly learn and execute the same fighting style used by her opponent. It was during this confrontation that she realized she had been set up–Daredevil was innocent and Kingpin was guilty. She turned away from Fisk and set out to find her own path.”

Echo is a character that I think more mainstream audiences might know from her Disney+ show than from the comics. That said, she’s got a potent talent for mimicing her opponent’s fighting style. She’s kind of like Taskmaster in that sense. Anyhow, on the tabletop, she’s coming in as a Threat 3 character with defenses of 3/3/3 and 5 stamina on both sides. she does have a Long movement though so she should be able to reach terrain and take advantage of her On The Prowl power and thus gain stealth.

Attack-wise, she’s got Studied Strike and Bullseye which are both flat +1 builders. However, they both have some tricks to go along with them. Bullseye is range 4 and 4 dice and doesn’t allow the defender to modify their results. Studied Strike is range 2 and 4 dice but can go up to 7 dice if Echo has already attacked the same target this turn. In order to get into position to do that, she does come with Charge for 2 energy as well.

Her big spender is I Know Your Moves Better Than You which is range 2 and 6 dice for 3 energy. That might not seem like much, but it basically nullifies the enemy’s crit results entirely — they don’t count as successes and they don’t allow for bonus dice! And to top it off, after the attack she can Advance Medium, too. Her final ability it Death Dancer which allows her to use the enemy’s crits to change her dice to either hits or shields, depending on if she’s attacking or defending. Pretty handy!

Before we get into the ability of the card, the name is a reference to the graphic novel Daredevil Volume 2: Parts of a Hole by David Mack.  Now, as far as this power goes, obviously this card is really geared toward having Daredevil on your team with her. That means this works for both the Defenders and the Criminal Syndicate thanks to having Shadowland Daredevil around. Essentially, it allows them to “borrow” the power from the other character. For only 1 energy off each, that’s not too bad!

Tigra In Marvel: Crisis Protocol

“Greer Nelson was a struggling college student when her mentor asked her to be a test subject in an experiment. The result of that experiment was Greer gaining superhuman physical abilities and senses. Using these new found powers she began the life of a superhero before being fatally wounded by Hydra. Her mentor used a mystical process to save her life and transform her into Tigra, a legendary half-human, half-cat warrior. As Tigra, her superhuman abilities were turbocharged and new abilities were gained including fangs, claws, and the ability to affect other people’s emotions.”

Tigra is joining the game as another Threat 4 character with Defenses of 4/3/4 and 6 stamina on both sides of her card. She’s also another Long move character, too. That extra zippiness is going to be handy because she’s also got On The Prowl. Additionally, she’s coming with Empathetic Aura which helps her allies with their defense rolls.

As far as attacks, her builder is Feline Slash which is range 3 and 5 dice. It does come with a Pierce on a wild, and if you get a wild and hit, you can also apply Hex, too! Sorry, No Autographs is her spender attack which is range 3 and 7 dice for 3 energy. It adds in a nice movement ability to place her with 3 of herself and on a wild it also applies Stagger to the target.

Ambush Predator is kind of a weird one. It’s a 3 cost power that allows her to Throw herself Medium. If she collides with anything, she doesn’t take damage. However, if she was overlapping a Terrain feature with a size larger than herself, the she’s also counts as size 3 for the the collusion. This is suppose to represent her dropping down on her Prey. My only issue with this is…she doesn’t have wallcrawler so I guess you’re having to rely on her “placement” abilities to really take advantage of this one.

Finally, we have Mess With The Cat And You Get The Claws. For 2, this reactive power can trigger when she’s the target of an attack. After it’s resolved, and the attacker is within range 3, you can roll 4 dice. For each, crit and wild the attacker takes 1 damage. Not too shabby but hopefully luck is on your side with that roll.

Tigra also has some mystical powers and has Totem of the Tiger God as her Team Tactic Card. This one basically gives her the ability to target Mystic Defense and when she deals damage with Feline Slash, Tigra also gets the ability to place herself with range 2. This could be a nice way to setup a wombo-combo if you’ve got the energy for the card, a self-throw from height, and a follow-up attack or two.

The Echo, Ronin, and Tigra Character Pack is currently up for Pre-order. It’s out for release on October 24, 2025.

Marvel: Crisis Protocol – Echo, Ronin & Tigra $54.99

Superpowers aren’t the only toolset heroes can use. Indeed, heroes like Echo and Ronin use their superb agility and martial skills to defeat even the most formidable of foes. However, when a challenge at hand surpasses their martial mastery, it always helps to have a mystical-powered friend like Tigra around to assist. This character pack adds three new characters to Marvel: Crisis Protocol.

Echo excels at hit-and-run tactics, being able to launch surprise attacks and slip away.Ronin’s powerful martial skills makes him a great up-close and personal fighter. Tigra uses her mystical feline reflexes and strength to take down her foes. This pack is great for players looking to add characters that close the distance and bring the fight to enemies.

The Defenders are getting some nice additions with this one!
